On the morning that final selection training was set to start, after all the candidates had arrived and were excitedly waiting around in the gym that had been set aside for their use, Finn couldn't help but think that he'd almost been able to sit out the tournament.
It wasn't that he was a coward or anything like that, if anything, he considered it an honor to fight for a country that had given him asylum and training and a career...
But as the list of participants, host sites, and - most importantly - candidates came out, his enthusiasm for becoming a contender had waned.
