"Let's try the sequence again," Zai instructed, and Rui put her hands on the etched plate that had been provided for her.
"I'm trying. The damn thing's busted, I say." Rui growled and tried to do the instructions Zai had repeated to her.
Rui would have liked to have a week off after returning to the Center, but almost instantly she was back to training and, true to her word, she'd dragged Finn along.
"You need to relax more. Let your qi get to where it's going," Finn tried to help. "But also keep it on the nexus plate. It's like... loosening up, but in a way that's still tightly bound to the nexus board."
Zai frowned as her plate warped and melted when she tried. "I think I'm going to need another."
