Rui
One week after passing her test, Zai came through on her word that Rui's training would reach the next level.
As they hiked to the other side of the mountain at the center of the PAC complex, she made conversation. "I'm just saying, with a name like Yue, that kid's going to get called a lot of names. Moon pie. Moon cake. Moon bread..."
"Are all the names kids call each other nowadays food-related?" Zai asked.
"I think she's just hungry," K'le chuckled. She punched Rui in the shoulder with her prosthetic arm.
Rui made an uncomfortable sound. She'd made a point to avoid K'le, feeling the woman might resent her because of her unwanted presence at the battle where she lost her arm. She didn't know the old lady would be along for the walk. Otherwise, she might have... well she didn't know what she might have done.
