The moment Morlock disappeared, Zai put her plan into motion.
She gathered qi into her senses, feeling her equilibrium reestablish itself over the pill-induced queasiness as she put her all into sensing the world around her.
When Morlock struck, Zai narrowly dodged, stepping out of the way of his punch and following strikes as she reacted to even his swiftest moves. With as much infusion as she'd put into her senses, she could track his movements, especially when he slowed himself to deliver attacks.
From what she could tell, his lightning attacks had cost him significantly. What he had left seemed to be oriented around speed and offense, which made him vulnerable to even normal attacks. His combat style was different from his predecessor and Zai's ability to adapt quickly was being tested.
