A rush of scorching air enveloped my face, parched and devoid of any thirst. It crackled against my skin, awakening me from my slumber. As my weary eyes slowly parted, I found her presence by my side. Her delicate hand caressed my forehead, gently pushing back my disheveled hair. With bated breath, I lifted my gaze to meet hers as she peered down at me.
"Thank God," she sighed in relief, her voice a melody of concern and affection. Leaning forward, she pressed her lips tenderly against my forehead, a gesture of solace and reassurance. How long had she been sitting here, beside me on the bed? I couldn't discern the passing of time in my disoriented state. My senses slowly regained their footing, and I surveyed my surroundings. I lay beneath the comfort of a blanket, my weakened body sheltered on the bed.
