"Hey, Arthur," Carl exclaimed as he hastily answered the phone. "Are you at the hospital right now?" His voice was laced with concern, the urgency palpable in his tone. His brows furrowed as he listened intently to the person on the other end of the line.
"Great, we are coming to your hospital," Carl continued, nodding as he absorbed the information. His eyes flickered with a mixture of worry and determination. "No, no, I am fine. It's Grace," he added, his voice softer, as if trying to reassure the person on the other end.
"Yeah," Carl responded, a hint of relief seeping into his voice. "Okay, okay," he concluded before abruptly ending the call. With a swift motion, he extended his hand towards me, an urgent gesture demanding my attention.
"Get up," Carl urged, his eyes pleading with me. "He's at the hospital."
