Inside the courtyard, there was a wide path paved with white stones. There was also a fountain in the center, with four stone statues lining both sides.
There was a statue of a lion, a bull, a ram, and a bear. These animals represented the four pillars of Nexus: War, Protection, Power, and Wisdom.
Tristan walked past the fountain as he gazed at each of the statues in turn. He stopped at the lion, took a deep breath, and closed his eyes for a moment.
He felt his body tingle, and his senses heightened as the world around him grew quiet.
Tristan's eyes snapped open when he heard a voice speak to him: 'I am the Lion, the strongest of the four. I am the protector of Nexus. I am the one who stands between our enemies and our people. If it means destroying everything to ensure their safety, then so be it. My strength is unending, and my roar can never be silenced.'
