He struggled to part the lids of his eyes open, and when he succeeded, his visions were blurry at the start. There seemed to be a bright light which shone from above him, refracting some colours which appeared beautifully. Yet, the bright light kept piercing into his eyes as he struggled to identify what his eyes could detect.
He blinked his eyelids severally, forcing his eyes to adapt to the brightness of the light. Yet, all of his struggles had yielded poor results and his hands were his only option to shield his eyes from the light.
He placed his right hand over his eyes, letting the flat palm face the light and the opposite side shielding his eyes. And though his fingers had parted ways for the light to pass through, his intelligence had caused him to tilt his head towards the left.
When he felt as though his eyes had quickly adapted, he let down his hand and stared at what seemed to have had some form of whitish-blue coloration.
It seemed as though his view was opposite of what the normal man would see, staring at the light blue skies which was void of any living movement or white clouds.
He hissed as he tried tilting his head as before, heaving a heavy sigh of pain as his hands had quickly moved to massage his aching temple
He laid on his back and his eyes facing the heavens. The aches were even more severe as he laid on the hard ground, and his body was of no exception to the pains he felt.
His ears could only pick up a lengthy beeping sound, and what followed was the sounds of hus heavy breathing and his increased heartbeat.
Slowly, his ears could capture some echoing sounds, and the echoes seemed as though they approached him at an increased pace. There as he laid, he could hear a pop sound in his ears which seemed as though it released his ears to pick up the main sounds of his surrounding.
Thus pop sound had sent shockwaves into his body, that which caused him to jerk off the ground with hasty breathing and sweat drops rolling down his eyes.
He stood with his eyes widened, widened at the realization of where he stood and the Carnage which surrounded him. There were loud shouts which proceeded from areas closer to him, like a mixture of groaning men and growling beasts.
He stared at his hands, and all he could see was blood coating them and his fingers. His eyes swayed towards the surrounding, catching the view of dead bodies and beasts, and pools of blood rolling freely just as the waters.
He could see amputated arms and legs, men who had passed on to the world beyond yet their mortals bodies still had their eyes opened and their mouths agape.
"Help me!" His eyes swayed towards the direction of the sounds, and what his eyes widened even more as he stared at the battered young soldier crawling with his hands filled with blood and his right leg separated from its joints.
He strained his eyes towards this man. Despite the truth in his words and how the current state of his body had complemented and showed the truth in his words, he couldn't still place his hands on who he was and what connection he had with him.
"Please..!" The other man spoke with the tone of his voice reduced. And with tears dropping from both his eyes, he strained the muscles of his hands as he crawled with freedom desire reflecting through his eyes.
And just before his eyes, he watched as a large feet smashed the head of the one who laid on the ground, spilling off the contents of his skull on the ground.
The force with which this had happened was intense, and the speed which was used was what he couldn't comprehend. It seemed as though that which had caused this sudden death had leaped from an insane height, letting its large feet stomp on the head of the one who had previously called out to him.
He watched as this strange creature blocked just view of its face with its back, grabbing a tight hold of the dead man's leg and reaping it off the joint to which it was connected.
He watched as the beast devoured the flesh, breaking the bones with its teeth easily and blood drooling from its mouth.
And suddenly there was no movement. All he could see was a wild beast suddenly becoming gentle, with increased heavy breathing which resounded like drums beaten for a special occasion.
The beast turned its head slowly, letting its golden eyes have a direct contact with his Satin grey eyes, and letting him view its muzzle and the blood and thick saliva drooling from its mouth.
It was a werewolf!
His eyes widened even more, and the resounding low growl of this large beast caused his knees to be weakened and forced his mouth open in an unconscious disbelief.
What just happened? He couldn't give the perfect explanation of what he has witnessed, but he realized that the man who thought of him as a savior had died due to his negligence and his resisting attitude.
He staggered on his feet, walking backwards with his right hand wrapped around his abdomen in a bid to suppress his longing pain and the desire to throw up the contents of his bowels.
He stopped abruptly at the sound of another lower growl. This time, it came from behind him, and his warm beige skin could feel the heated heavy breath of something far more superior from the average human size.
His intelligence had triggered him to stop immediately, and his instincts had ordered him to cease movement or signs which depicted that of a living human.
But this wasn't an ordinary creature which man was far greater than? This wasn't a creature that man was bigger and more intelligent than?
If the folktales which his father had read him under the bright full moon every night seemed true as his eyes had captured, then he was sure to note that these were men who had let their inner beast ride over their emotions and overpowered them beyond their weaknesses.
He slowly turned back, his brain puzzling out the different things which would happen in a short moment of time. He had quickly glanced through the thoughts of also departing the world of the living to another where his real fate would be decided.
Yet he thought of escape routes from the grip of a monster as large and powerful as such. He did the arithmetic of his next line of movement, and inwardly he blessed the heavens for his increased agility and skills which he had developed while he still growed.
He thought of borrowing one of his skills for moments as such, yet he wondered how he would leap towards an area farther away from the werewolf when his entire body ached seriously.
He stood with his eyes glued on a monster whose eyes glowed burning flames, and whose fangs and tongue let its thick saliva drool down his face. He stood with his hands wrapped around his abdomen, staring upwards as though he stared at the heavens.
The beast released a loud growl at him, right at his face. His face was squeezed in the disgust of the winds which followed the loud growl and the stench of the mouth of the beast.
He made the mistake of closing his eyes, and there, the beast exhibited its own intelligence by sweeping him off his feet with a heavy slap proceeding from its large hands.
It swept the smaller one off his feet, throwing him towards the large tree whose bark was fiercer than what he could even describe.
