Chapter 4 - Prelude Chapter 3.14 - Ally

The event that was The massacre of the Red Plains put all the countries of Mare on high alert. An arms race had begun.

The accumulation of talent and sacred artefacts that could replicate or amplify an Exalted's power was of paramount importance. They were not only fearful of themselves but the existence of Dragons. Could there be more? One dragon's strength is equivalent to one Centra, the strongest 100 Exalted. Dragons have been extinct since the War of Dragons 2 cycles ago in Year 999 Century of Rukka.

"Boring". The man said while casually embedded in his chair yawning. "No one's worthy. I thought I might see something exciting"

A just person spoke.

"Have they left yet? They need to ensure that no souls are left behind."

A gentle girl of short stature with beautiful fair skin, pastel blue hair and pointed ears had timidly responded

"Yes, they have. I hope no more poor lives are lost. That was a horrible massacre. I wish I could have intervened."

A stern person with an indistinguishable, tall and slender figure spoke

"You know you cannot do that. You should have sent an agent."

"They have their hands full. I didn't expect that big meanie to appear. I would have sent them if I knew this was gonna happen". The poor gentle girl started to bawl.

The bored man jumped from his chair and stretched his enormous arms.

"Man I'd love to fight today but that prick wouldn't have fought me. All that power and you don't use it.What are you looking at ?" turning his attention to somthing interesting.

The blonde woman with an intense look stared deeply into a portal.

"Something more interesting. And I'm claiming them."

A beastly man disgruntled retorted "Typical, while everyone looking at the action you take advantage and claim someone with potential, you already have the prize of the century probably the millennia in Poseidon, you're just getting greedy at this point"

"This little girl has arguably more potential than Poseidon or your precious Tiger Lee-Lin. That magic quantity rivals a borderline exceed and her spiritual disposition makes her even more interesting "

"Let's see if your stupid child can last to even have the chance to fight Lee, he's a generational monster if it weren't for Poseidon he'd be first. " the Beastly man grinned, baring his canines and eyes filled with bloodlust.

"Have any of you viewed the Dwarves of Mount Palina, I sense that they could be creating a monster" inputted the Stern person

"I have sent my agents to investigate and our investigation has yielded nothing. Has anyone claimed the Plum blossom yet it's been two decades" said the fair person

His answer was the same

The gentle girl wiping away her last tears now focused on this subject pointed at a little boy in Kita's portal vision and asked "what about him?"

The beastly man, the bored man, and Kita looked at each other and then laughed.

"Dead within a week" responded the bored man.

"He's weak, frail, has the lowest magic available even dwarfs have more magic than him and last but not least he has no will. He's fodder for the weak. The weak have no say in this world. For this little cockroach he doesn't even have a voice." said the beastly man.

"Aww nooo, that's so sad I'm going to give him my blessing so that he can live a normal and happy life …. something wrong?" Her face tilted with a confused look as she tried to comprehend this peculiar situation.

"What is it?"

"It is not working my blessings are being rejected" This sentence alerted everyone. Bewildered, they all looked at each other. A blessing that was unconsciously rejected was unprecedented. Only willpower or an unholy force that could rival that blessing could reject such power.

The bored man burst out in laughter. "I did say I wanted to see something interesting, at least I got it. I got to see a child destined to die."

Most of them examined the young child and understood this fact. In life, there are many children who are gifted with a plethora of talents, abilities and have a powerful will. This child was the antithesis of such luck. He was completely void of talent, abilities and willpower. Death was this child's fate.

The Stern person then queried the table "has any one of you investigated the Dwarves of Mount Palina or the State of Maine, I sense something unsightly is occurring within those two countries". His serious demeanour did not match the chaotic energy in the room as they were ignored while the others were showing off their toys and comparing them to see who had the strongest.

Then the quiet red-headed woman got up from her seat and left the room.

She opened her vision portal. Her perception of talent and potential was different from those in the room. She valued different intangibles. Loyalty, self-awareness, and passion. These traits are the bountiful soil that will grow this seed into a proud and tall tree.

"I'm claiming this one she's gonna be a force of nature that's going to be more powerful than all those candidates they're looking at". Gleaming with pride she sees the little girl clumsily fall, scrape her knee then start to cry… "I hope"

10 years later ….

The city-state of Adu

A girl draped in red holding her fists and her right leg up. "If you're gonna mess with them, you're gonna have to mess with me". She grinned confidently and unleashed a barrage of fiery kicks.

What was left was a group of bandits left flat on their faces as the girl walked over to them and picked up a purse then proceeded to loot them but then she hesitated and left something behind. She ran rapidly looking a complete mess as her clothes were ripped and her hair bundled up in front of her face. When the first bandit awoke he woke his colleagues up. As they all woke, they realised the large purse that replaced the coin purse they stole with a scribbled barely legible message inside. - If you want to make more join the Adu legion - free food.
