It was Early in the morning.
Alia was seated at the desk inside the Chief's Office, writing.
The female doctor entered the room, "Lady Alia, I need your assistance!"
Alia got up for the desk, "I will be right there", as she placed her pen on the desk next to the paper she was writing on.
The Paper:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Mom,
It's been 7 years since Dad passed away. I know you remember. I miss you so much, and I want to see you again. Whenever I ask Chief Eta about your whereabouts, he tells me you're far away carrying out a secret mission. He still treats me like a kid, but I want to know if you're safe and well.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that was all she wrote. She couldn't finish it.
Alia and the Doctor were walking side by side as they talked about a medicine the female doctor had been developing, and the doctor wanted Alia to help make some final changes to the formula.
Alia nodded yes, "Of Course!"
They then reached the medbay. Juno was doing some push-ups while covered in bandages.
Alia, "Now's not the time for you to EXERCISE! *sigh* Instead, you should be resting!"
Juno gets up, "It is that day, isn't it?"
Alia had her hands down and looked at Juno tearing down.
Alia, "Yes! I miss Mom, " as Juno slowly hugged Alia.
Juno was thinking, "Every Year, on this day, she is always at her weakest", as he waved the doctor to leave the room.
The doctor understood their reasons and left the room.
After the doctor left, Juno couldn't hear Alia cry anymore and saw she was fast asleep.
Juno carried her in his arms and put her on the bed closest to the door.
Juno looked as she slept, "You always do overwork yourself. You are the one who needs the rest," he then smiled.
Meanwhile, Henry was in the basement warehouse where the O-passes were kept. Henry took one of them. Henry then started to move out of the basement in his wheelchair.
Henry, "I trust you enough that I am giving you half of me!"
2 hours later, in the medbay, Alia woke up and saw Juno sleeping on a chair on the right of her bed next to the door.
Alia smiled, "Thanks for being there with me", as a few tears slid down her face.
Alia then hugged him as he was sleeping.
Juno woke up and saw Alia hugging him.
Alia looked up at his face, "Finally, you got up! I was about to call you to visit Dad's grave," she smiled.
Juno pushed her away, "Before that, I have something to deal with!"
As Juno kept pushing her away, "You have something else to do! That is something new!"
He looked pissed and flustered, hearing her, "I have lots to do every day!"
Alia laughed.
Juno, "Anyways, did you finish writing your letter for Mom?"
Alia, "Nope. Why?"
Juno, "I just asked. I miss having her around, and, well, Dad too."
Alia, "I know. It has been 7 years since that day. I wished every day for that day to have been different."
After getting up, Alia lay sideways on the bed while Juno occupied the other side. They both looked up at the ceiling.
Juno, "Remember the day when we went to Eta and asked for an O-pass?"
Alia nodded yes, "He punched both our heads for asking. We then went and stole it from the warehouse that day."
Juno giggled, "And He caught us again punching our heads."
They both then giggled.
After a while, they stopped giggling, and Alia looked sad.
Alia, "We attempted the same thing on another occasion."
Juno, "To bring Dad back. I remember."
Alia, "Chief was there, Luckily, to help us out of it."
After a brief silence.
Juno, "I promise I will get stronger!"
Alia looked at him, "I know you will!"
In the quiet medbay, their laughter faded. Alia's eyes filled with tears, expressing the shared pain and longing for their parents.
Juno understood his sister's unspoken emotions, gently wiped away her tears and said, "We'll make them proud, Alia. You and me, together."
Alia nodded, her eyes shimmering with determination, "I believe in us, Juno. We'll keep working hard, just like they taught us."
Their bond as twins was a source of strength, a connection that transcended words. At that moment, they shared a silent promise to honour their parents' memory through their actions.
Henry was outside hearing all this.
Henry silently, "You are both doing great!"
Henry was standing on his 2 feet and not in a wheelchair. Henry's right leg looked like nothing had happened but was completely black.
Henry then walked away from there as he said silently, "I will be back. Stronger!"
He entered the Chief's Office and gathered everything he needed into a small bag from the room.
Eta teleported into the room, "What is this energy-" as he saw Henry standing again.
Eta, "But. How. What did you do, Henry?"
Henry, "I got my leg back. That's what I did!"
Eta, "I can see that. But What did you sacrifice it for?"
Then Henry's right half turned black.
Alter, "Gave me half of him."
Eta closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them, "*sigh* I understand. I hope you find yourself then."
Henry said nothing and felt the room after taking all he needed.
Alter, "He is me. And I am him!"
Eta smiled, "If he sees it that way, I am Okay with it!"
Days turned into weeks, and the routine at the headquarters continued. Alia and Juno found solace in their work. They became pillars of support for each other, a silent understanding passing between them.
One evening, after a particularly long day, they found themselves back in the Chief's Office. Alia was organizing the day's reports, and Juno was going through security protocols. The room was filled with a comfortable silence, a testament to their shared strength.
Juno looked up from his work, "Alia, I've been thinking. Maybe we should visit their graves tomorrow. It's been a while since we paid our respects."
Alia smiled softly, touched by her brother's suggestion, "I think that's a wonderful idea, Juno. It's been too long."
Alia went back to her table and finished the letter:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Mom,
It's been 7 years since Dad passed away. I know you remember. I miss you so much, and I want to see you again. Whenever I ask Chief Eta about your whereabouts, he tells me you're far away carrying out a secret mission. He still treats me like a kid, but I want to know if you're safe and well.
But I promise you there is nothing to worry about. I have got him, and he has me. As Dad said, we are stronger together and never let the other person go astray.
Lovingly Your Daughter,
Alia

The next day, they stood at their parents' graves, the wind rustling through the nearby trees as if whispering words of comfort. Alia placed a bouquet of fresh flowers on the graves, her eyes reflecting a mix of sorrow and determination.
Juno put a hand on her shoulder, offering silent support, "They're watching over us, Alia. I can feel it. And they're proud of the strong, capable Secretary you've become."
Tears welled up in Alia's eyes, but this time they were different—tinged with a sense of acceptance and hope. She smiled at Juno through her tears, "Thank you, Juno. We'll keep making them proud, won't we?"
Juno nodded, his own eyes misty, "Alia. Together, there's nothing we can't overcome."
At that moment, amidst the tranquillity of the cemetery, Alia and Juno found strength in their shared love and memories. They left the gravesite hand in hand, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that their parents' love would always guide them.
The bond between them was unbreakable, and as they walked back to headquarters, they carried their parents' legacy with them, ready to protect their Golden Valley and shape a better future for their world.
