It was a three-on-one situation, and the tension in the air heightened as the delinquents surrounded me, brandishing their pocket knives.
"Wait, are those knives? Damn, they're serious," I muttered under my breath.
Without wasting a moment, I reacted swiftly, launching a sudden kick at the delinquent who was about to charge at me with his knife.
My foot connected with his chest, causing him to stumble back, momentarily disoriented.
As the others closed in, I deftly dodged their slashing attacks and reflexes to evade their strikes. With timing and movements, I delivered a series of swift kicks and punches, aiming to disarm them.
Using my momentum, I targeted the arms and wrists of the delinquents, aiming to disarm them of their weapons.
Each strike was hit, forcing them to drop their knives one by one.
"Damn it! This guy!"
"He's too strong...!"
As the last delinquent hesitated, his confidence wavered. Sensing the opportunity, I lunged forward, disarming him and rendering him defenseless.
I did another beckoning sign to provoke them.
"This bastard!"
As I taunted them, one of the delinquents approached the girl and held a knife to her neck. "Don't move or I'll do it!"
Wow, a human shield, just as I expected. Now, what should I do in this situation? Should I use my magic and aim it at him or should I try that 'thing' I watched in an anime? Hmmm.
Whatever, I'll just do this.
I raised my thumb above my fist, acting as a hammer, and extended two fingers perpendicular to it, forming a barrel shape. Then, I silently chanted as I focused my mana on the barrel. "Zap."
A flash of small lightning shot out of the barrel finger, hitting the delinquent directly. He immediately released his grip on the girl and stumbled back, writhing in pain.
Seeing this, I swiftly turned my aim towards the other two delinquents and silently chanted, "Zap." Lightning surged from my fingers once again, striking the remaining two and causing them to collapse to the ground.
Now that's taken care of, I should make my exit.
As I was about to walk away from the scene, the girl grabbed the sleeve of my arm. "Thank you," she said.
So she's a foreigner. How do I say 'no problem' in English? I turned to her and smiled, saying, "𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐨?" As I looked at her, she had a dumbfounded expression on her face and then burst into laughter.
Hm? Did I say something wrong? Wait, no, I said 'Thank you.' I immediately bowed. "𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫." I bowed rapidly in embarrassment.
"Hehehe~"
I just made a fool out of myself, huh.
"𝐔-𝐔𝐡𝐡, 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮... 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰... 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞?" I stuttered, feeling embarrassed by my poor English skills.
"Pfft~ Ahahaha~" She continued laughing. I knew my English was bad, so please don't make fun of me anymore, or I'll seriously die of shame.
"𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞, 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞" She bowed to me.
Does that mean she knows?
I nodded as I was about to turn around, I noticed a black car and two men in suits rushing towards us.
"Milady! Where have you been!?"
"Wait, who are you!?"
Hm? Did he just say "Milady"? Wait, he's speaking Japanese! Does that mean!?
I turned to her with a dumbfounded face as she smirked. "This girl can speak Japanese the whole time!?"
Startled by the two guys with a suit, I had to get out of there quickly. Without hesitation, I began running swiftly to escape the scene.
"Damn it! I was fooled the whole time!" I shouted in embarrassment, my face turning beet red.
As I headed back to my apartment and entered inside, I dropped myself on the floor, panting.
I noticed Scarlet covered in towels, and she also noticed me and approached.
"You look tired, Human... Where have you been?"
"Haha, I don't want to answer that question right now."
"Taneshima-sama?" Maria chimed in. "You look tired. Do you need some water?"
I nodded as I slowly got up and headed to the sofa. "Haaa~ So tired..."
Maria then handed me a glass of water, which I gratefully accepted and quickly drinks it.
After that, I explained everything about the events I had just experienced today. I recounted the details of encountering the delinquents, using my magic.
However, despite all that had happened, I couldn't help but continue to think about the moment she had made a fool out of me. It lingered in my mind, leaving me in embarrassment.
... Sometime later, from another person's point of view.
"Milady, I have obtained the information you requested about the young boy," my butler informed me, handing over a file.
"Ah, splendid. Let me take a look," I said, eagerly opening the folder to reveal the name "Taneshima Subaru-kun." A mischievous smile formed on my lips. "So, you possess magic, young Subaru. How intriguing."
"It is indeed a rare sight to encounter another magician outside of our family," the butler remarked before leaving the room.
"Yes, indeed," I murmured to myself. "This promises to be an interesting encounter. I'm excited to meet you again~"
Fufufu.
