Chapter 10 - Special Entrance Exam Final | Proposal

<"Light Magic: Radiant Blade"> Ryota then takes a combat stance facing off against the party of adventurers.

"Let's do this," he declares.

"Must be a skilled ninja, but..." Ryota muttered to himself, assessing his opponent's abilities.

Suddenly, the man with the bandana mask reappeared behind Ryota, ready to strike. But Ryota had anticipated this move and quickly spun around, bringing his glowing sword up to block the attack.

"But it's too obvious," Ryota said with a smirk, recognizing the ninja's predictable tactics.

"I know," said the man with a smirk, before another version of himself appeared and tried to slash Ryota from behind.

"A clone?" he mutters to himself.

<"Time Magic: Chrono Slow"> This spell allows the user to slow down time for a brief period, allowing them to move and react faster than their opponents

The world around him seems to grind to a halt as time slows down, allowing him to react with incredible speed.

As the clone lunges towards him, Ryota gracefully sidesteps the attack, the slow motion effect allowing him to carefully dodge the incoming strike. He moves with fluid grace, his every move is precise and measured.

Ryota then takes advantage of the slowed time to strike back at the man with the bandana mask with his <"Light Magic: Radiant Blade">. His sword begins to glow with radiant light as he unleashes a flurry of dazzling sword strikes that land with deadly accuracy. The man struggles to keep up with Ryota's movements, his own slowed down by the effects of the spell.

However, as the fight continues, another adventurer joins the fray, casting a powerful <"Fire Magic: Bursting Roar"> spell that creates a massive explosion of flames. Ryota quickly realizes the danger and dashes backward, narrowly avoiding the intense heat and flames.

<"Fire Magic: Bursting Roar"> A type of fire spell that creates a powerful explosion of flames. When cast, the spell ignites the surrounding air, creating a massive burst of flames that can cause significant damage to both enemies and the surrounding environment.

Ryota's grin widens as he flicks his wrist, causing an inventory slot to materialize in front of him. From within the slot, he pulls out a folded piece of paper with a drawing of a demon wielding a massive sword and an angel holding a glowing bow.

With a flourish of his hand, Ryota unleashes his <"Art Magic: Enlivening"> spell, causing the paper to come to life. The demon and angel burst forth from the paper, their weapons at the ready.

The whole party of adventurers stares at the demon and angel with fear, except for the man with the scar on his face. "What kind of magic is that?" he questions Ryota's abilities.

Synthia is also shocked, but her amusement at seeing Ryota play the villain in this scenario is evident in her laughter.

"Now then, my art... Feel free to go on a rampage," Ryota orders the angel and demon as they start attacking the adventurers. Chaos ensues as some of the party members run, while others fight back.

The man with the scar on his face joins the battle, his skills on full display as he confronts the demon and angel. "You coward!" he shouts at Ryota, refusing to let the art magic user control the fight.

The man with the scar on his face charges at the demon and angel, striking them with his sword and using his magic to weaken them. Ryota watches as the battle unfolds, his magic holding back for now.

Suddenly, Ryota's expression changes as he realizes it's time to end this fight. He steps forward and raises his palm towards the group of adventurers, the sound of crackling lightning filling the air.

"Enough... Playtime is over." Ryota says.

<"Thunder Magic: Storm Surge"> This spell creates a massive area of effect lightning storm that strikes everything in its path, dealing devastating damage to all enemies within range.

he declares, unleashing his ultimate lightning spell. A massive area of effect lightning storm crackles to life, striking everything in its path with devastating bolts of electricity. The adventurers are caught off guard, unable to withstand the power of the spell.

Ryota watches with satisfaction as the lightning storm fades away, leaving the party of adventurers battered and defeated. "It's over," he says with a sense of finality, his hand still crackling with residual energy.

The defeated party disappeared, presumably teleported back to the guild. Ryota walked over to Synthia, his body feeling drained.

"I can finally rest," he said with a sigh of relief.

"Good job, Ryota-sama," Synthia said, a hint of admiration in her voice.

Ryota nods in appreciation before taking a seat on the ground. He conjures an inventory slot and pulls out ten sheets of paper and a pen. As he begins to draw, Synthia curiously peers over his shoulder.

"What are you drawing?" she asks.

"I was thinking about what if I could make money by selling manga in this world," Ryota replies. "It would be interesting to become both an adventurer and a mangaka in another world."

Synthia nods in agreement, "It is a good idea."

Ryota smiles, "Thanks, Synthia."

Synthia nods as she carefully lays the unconscious girl down on the ground.

"How many days left till the exam finishes."

"Six days," Synthia replies.

Ryota's face falls. "Are you serious?"

"Five and a half days now," Synthia corrects herself.

After spending six grueling days inside the cleared dungeon, taking turns to rest and watch over the unconscious girl, Ryota, and Synthia finally makes it out and return to the guild. To their surprise, there were only a handful of adventurers who had passed the Special Entrance Exam.

"Congratulations to those who passed the special entrance exam," the Guild Master greeted the successful adventurers.

"We made it," Ryota breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ryota-sama, I'd like to take a bath once we're out of this guild."

Ryota nodded in agreement. "You may take a bath after this..."

"Thank you. Now, please carry this girl, and DO NOT have any funny ideas," Synthia said.

"I-I won't," Ryota replied.

"Oh, you two? Who is this girl?" the guild receptionist asked.

"My other party member," Ryota lied, maintaining a poker face.

"Oh, I see. I didn't know that."

"She was our shadow in our group. Of course, you wouldn't know," Ryota said, continuing the deception.

"Oh, a ninja. I guess she's good at hiding in the shadows. Now, please take this reward and write the names of your party," the receptionist said.

Synthia then walks up to the receptionist and wrote their names on the paper.

"Thank you! Please come back tomorrow to get your registration card and your instant promotion," the receptionist said with a smile.

As they left the guild, Synthia asked Ryota, "Ryota-sama, why did you lie?"

Ryota responded, "Do you think they would let a necromancer's daughter out of the guild?"

Synthia's eyes widen slightly and smile. "Very impressive."

Synthia and Ryota both return to the inn they were staying in and were greeted by Rita who seems to be serving the other customers.

"Welcome back, you two."

"We're back."

As Ryota paused to respond to Rita's greeting, he was momentarily transported back to his childhood memories. He could vividly recall his mother and father welcoming him home after a long day at school, his little sister eagerly waiting for him to play with her. Those memories were bittersweet.

"We're back," Ryota said, shaking off the memories and heading straight to their room. Synthia and Rita exchanged a look of confusion, wondering what could have caused Ryota to act so strangely. Rita then noticed that Ryota was carrying a girl and made a playful smirk.

"So, Synthia... Who is the girl that Ryota's been carrying?" Rita asked with a teasing tone.

"An acquaintance," Synthia replied, keeping her tone neutral.

"Oh? Really? I must say she is very cute," Rita said with a smirk.

"...Really? I think I'm cuter," Synthia said, a small smile appearing on her face.

Rita laughed a bit. "Right, you are."

"Anyway, may I take a bath?" Synthia asked, changing the topic.

"Sure, just head to the center and then you'll see the women's bath on the right side," Rita said with a smile.

Synthia nodded and headed straight to the bath.

Meanwhile, Ryota slowly lays the girl down on the bed, then takes out the unfinished manga panels from his inventory slot and starts drawing. As soon as he finished drawing the last page, the girl slowly opens her eyes.

"Mmmm... Where am I?" the girl asks.

Ryota notices this and stands up, walking over to her. "You're finally awake."

"Eh?! Who are you?! Where's my father!?"

Ryota pauses, stopping before getting closer to her. "Your father died."

"...That's not true... My father is the best mage! There's no way he died!"

"Best mage, huh? Sorry, but it's the truth. He became a necromancer, but before he vanished, he asked me to save you in the dungeon."

"Y-You mean in the Mysticwood Forest?"

"That's right."

"...So my father became a necromancer... That means he did it, didn't he?"

"Hm? What do you mean?"

"Do you know about 'Death Magics'? It's a powerful but dangerous magic that can cheat death or even bring back the dead. My father had always wanted to learn it so he could save my mother who was gravely ill."

"But then?"

"I tried to stop him, but it was too late."

"Too late?"

"I was overrun by the undead and... the rest is a blur."

"You were an orb."

"An orb?"

"I don't know why you were turned into an orb but I was sure that your father did that to protect you."

"Do you think?"

Ryota nods. "Your father may have regretted using the Death Magic to bring back the dead, and it resulted in your untimely demise."

"How did you know?"

"...Because he asked me to find you, his last request."

"That...father of mine?"

Ryota approaches her and gently strokes her hair. "Your father just wanted one last moment with his family, and he was willing to risk everything to have it."

The girl's tears begin to subside as she finds comfort in Ryota's embrace. For a brief moment, the pain and sorrow fade away.

"Maybe I can draw a picture of your father. I think I still remember what he looked like." Ryota says,

"Really?" She looks up at him.

"Of course, just stay right there." Ryota goes to his desk, retrieves a piece of paper, and starts to draw. The girl watches with anticipation, waiting to see her father's likeness once more.

"You have a real talent for drawing," she says, wiping away her tears.

Ryota smiles and nodded as he focused on drawing his father.

"What is your name?" Ryota asked.

"Kanna.. Kanna Izayoi, You?"

"Ryota."

"I like it.." Kanna smiles warmly at Ryota, showing a glint of gratitude in her eyes.

"Thank you."

"Say Ryota, Will you become my spouse?"

Ryota pauses for a moment as he stops drawing slowly looking at her face. "...Eh?"
