Chapter 29 - Chapter 28- Floor 1: I am a friend

Natasha Romanoff was currently in a state of a bit astonishment and curious to know the unexpected being currently warding off the aliens all by himself while Iron Man aided and provided assistance as much as he could.

"Who is that, Stark?"

Steve asked with his tone coated with natural awe and slight alarm as well seeing a lone wolf whom no one has ever seen before nor the computer showing any data off, practically overwhelming a whole army all by himself.

She, Steve, and Clint were still in the Quinjet finding the best place to land and assist the civilians out of the battle zone but the spectacle out in the sky made Natasha a bit dazed off until she heard Captain America's call.

"No clue, but that kid got the magical stick of Loki after he beat the shit out of that guy. If you want I have a video of that-"

"Stark, focus."

Steve scolded in a stern tone to which the armored superhero snickered and continued to fire his beams on those airships which escaped the reach of the first line of defense.

It was startling to hear that someone not from Asgard was able to beat Loki and snatch Specter from him but that was not the subject to mule over for now.

"Is it Thor...?" Natasha self doubted but soon her hunch was proven to be right when the figure neared the Stark tower and thrashed inside the penthouse. Black Widow didn't focus on it for more than necessary since she knew he had some scolding to do to his baby brother.

"Any plan on how can we deal with that kid and get the scepter back? Surely he looks on our side but a stranger with god's tool is not something I would like to face again."

The Hawkeye spoke his thoughts out with his sharp gaze never leaving the one-man army, easily snatching the lives of tens of aliens in just one swing of his pitch-black weapon. His movements were refined, like even with his eyes closed he could perform those techniques. The way he was dealing fatal damage with the airships of enemies almost in a reflexive motion was commendable and disturbing at the same time as well.

Captain America seemed to contemplate and formulate a plan where he doesn't have to stop the assault that the strange boy was bestowing on the invaders at the same time negotiate for the scepter as well but before the War Hero could have come up with any plan, the intercom buzzed with an unfamiliar voice.

"No need to feel wary of me guys, I am just here to help."

At the perplexed expressions of Captain and Natasha, Clint clarified, "It's the boy. I could see his lips moving..."

Affirmed by their ally all three of them and Tony as well focused on the voice, completely disregarding the fact that how the boy hacked into their server.

"I will return Loki's toy once I close this portal. For now, I would be thankful if you all focus on those who get past me and prioritize public safety."

The voice came to a halt leaving the heroes, for now, to decide what percent of credibility held behind those words. Naturally, none of them could believe just the mere words of a teenager but no one in the group seemed to have any better plan nor the might to face one of those red orbs the boy was blasting once in a while.

Steve was left with no choice since as the boy highlighted, there was no time left to mule over any matter other than the safety of the masses.

"We will see how it goes, let's do our jobs for now."

At Captain's words, the other three agreed as well. Clint soon asked Natasha to drop him off on the nearby rooftop from where he could keep a watch on both the sky and the surface.

"Watch your back Captain. No one would be around for backup."

"Have a life worth of experience, ma'am." With those words, the shield-wielding hero dropped off the quinjet just before a beam of light shot toward him, only to be dodged by Captain America before he threw his shield and impaled his opponent.

Natasha returned to watch out for invaders that escapes from the first defense force as she utilized the weaponry installed on the birdie to shoot down as many as she could. She has experience in her field which the Black Widow generally gets assigned to, but fighting a war against aliens...really, not her fortè.

"Nat, clock tower. Some fans keep on chasing me."

Turning the jet toward the said destination she found Ironman getting pursued by his 'fans' which in actuality were more than a dozen of alien aircraft. She engaged the rotary machine guns to deal with the uninvited guests.

Barton was also occupied with his work shooting some birds in a precise fashion. Not a single shot was missing its designated target while he gawked at the strange boy still in the air from time to time.

From Clint's perspective if he has to fight that guy just based on weapons alone Clint was unsure if he could walk out unharmed from the battle.

Leaving the fact that the boy was packed with supernatural abilities, the weapon he was using was changing from time to time. Sometimes scythe then sometimes a nunchaku carves out of that eerie black matter which screamed to be an alien tech. That accuracy...Clint wondered from what age that teenager must be training to become something like that...

'Wait. Did he just...!! '

[Stark Tower, top floor.]

"Now you see?! What is your anger and disappointment toward Allfather caused to these people? This destruction...can you take the blame for all this?"

The next heir to the throne, the God of Thunder, and the one who has the responsibility to protect Midgard, Thor Odinson spoke to his brother with a mixture of grief and anger blended in his voice as he held Loki by his neck and made him see the destruction befallen beneath.

Thanks to his stupid brother's lecture, Loki was able to evaluate the situation and what kind of entity had knocked him out earlier. Loki was treated as a fool but in truth, he was a mastermind who had always plans for his next move.

From the looks of it, the human who currently was fending off the Chitauri forces almost all alone was out of Loki's reach to defeat, more so when this hot-blooded brother of his was here.

Loki needed his scepter and also had to ensure the invasion moves flawlessly for him to gain control over this realm and keep his end of the promise which involved the Tesseract.

"But does it matter, dear brother? The weapon which no human should come across is now in the hand of a child. And if you may have noticed, that kid is also absorbing the soldiers once in a while, seemingly for what purpose, I wonder."

Thor's gaze wavered for a bit before he hesitates at what to say next to approach the matter. As Loki said, the strange boy was absorbing the invaders for some unknown reason, and from Thor's experience that sign was not a good omen.

"I say, brother...more than me, you should be focusing on a far worse danger that has yet to show his fangs, no?"

Whether Loki was able to manipulate his brother was soon verified since soon the Mjolnir began to rotate at a high speed in Thor's grip as the blond god let go of Loki, bringing a small hidden grin to the latter's face before he launched toward the portal.

The unexpected phase of the battle was looming.

And Loki would love to have a seat and enjoy the show for now~
