When they got to the immortal realm Ling Yao had already changed into a black hanfu. It's was one of her favorites and it was a gift from someone she liked.
It was gifted to her on her 20th birthday. A person she had seen only once always sent her gifts on her birthday. That person had saved her life once and that's why she never rejected his gifts. She didn't see his face though but she had seen him once.
Maybe he's the one that comes every night. She thought.
The demon Prince smiled and said, "That hanfu is plain but definitely looks good on you. Try not to ruin it"
Though she couldn't see his face she knew he had a smile on his face.
He left without waiting for a response or reaction from her.
She followed behind him and they both stopped at the entrance of the village.
In the immortal realm, there's uhh.. more of flying than walking. But not all immortals could fly and not all had powers.
Some people in the immortal realm are just immortals but they have little power and there are some who aren't even immortals but they live in the immortal realm. The mortals in the immortal realm live just like a human and die eventually when they reach a certain age.
If they wanted to go to the human world, they knew where they'd have to go to take them there. Their lives were simple and they loved it in the immortal realm.
Some were born there. Some found their way there, while some were brought by the immortal for one work or the other.
Ling Yao wanted to follow him in the air but for some reason she couldn't do it. She felt like something was keeping her foot stuck to the ground.
What's happening?
She was still confused but yelled to him, "You go in the air I'll meet up with you on foot". She was frustrated at what was happening but still remained calm.
Immediately she got to the gate she sensed someone coming but saw no one. She felt something coming towards her at a high speed.
Before it could hit her, she turned her body sideways and avoided the hit. She straightened her body and before she could move, she felt that same thing launch towards her again from behind.
She bent backwards and avoided it again skillfully. She straightened up and couldn't sense the thing again.
She had a feeling it was still around, somewhere but she couldn't sense it.
She looked around but couldn't see or sense anything. She closed her eyes and when she opened it, the neck of the thing was in her hand.
When she had her eyes closed, she cleared her mind and could hear the wind move each time the thing made a move.
It made itself invisible and tried moving stealthy hoping to inflict pain on the guardian but it didn't work out.
But since when could a serpent make itself invisible.
She opened her eyes and they had already changed color. Her eyes were metallic gold and they looked terrifying.
The invisible serpent tried escaping from Ling Yao's grasp on its neck but couldn't, she only tightened her hand around its neck.
The serpent had already started to appear, it wasn't invisible anymore and it turns out it was half human, half serpent.
The serpent choked out the words he wanted to say, "Please, let me go. Please"
Ling Yao smirked and the serpent realized something, "The last guardian?"
Ling Yao forgot to wear her mask, he recognized her. She didn't want anyone to see her face when she's in the form of the last guardian.
She said, "I really don't want to kill you but, he does"
Huh
He felt a sword pierce through his head from behind. The serpent died bleeding heavily through his head.
She asked him, "Do you have a mask I could borrow?"
The Demon Prince smiled mockingly and brought out a mask, her mask and said, "I knew you'd forget to take it with you"
She rolled her eyes at him and collected her mask. After putting it on, she went with the Demon Prince into the village and couldn't help admire how beautiful it is.
Though the serpents had ruined some places but it still looked lovely, it looked nothing like Ling Yao thought it would. It was a village but in a very modern way.
She said, "people in the immortal realm never cease to amaze me"
She really wanted to get out from the immortal realm asap. She didn't hate the immortal realm but now that something is wrong with her powers.
She couldn't just stay and wait for the Demon King to appear and see her like this.
She thought of what to do since her powers are messing with her.
She scoffed and said mockingly, "their swordsmanship is whack. Heh"
Her eyes tuned golden again, she opened her palm and after a few seconds her sword appeared in her hand
She started moving at a high speed, killing every serpent she sees with just one strike.
The Demon Prince smirked and followed her ignoring what he was doing which made the person he neglected pissed.
"How dare you ignore me in the middle of a fight. I might as well teach you a lesson on behalf of your dad you rude bastard" The leader of the serpents that invaded the the village felt pissed.
The sword Ling Yao had in her hand was one helpful sword. Even though her powers were fucked up, she was still better off with a sword.
Behind her was the Demon Prince assisting her in suppressing the souls of the dead serpent if not they're sould would go into the body of mortals and claim it as theirs.
He was really impressed by what she was doing and couldn't help but watch her every move.
She had already killed more than half of the serpents that came. Some serpents escaped while some were with their leader.
She turned around and almost collided with the Demon Prince. Luckily she was able to stop herself before she did. "Why are you helping me. I can supress their souls later myself"
He scoffed and replied, "You are currently broken I need to help you. I don't have a choice. Even if you tried, you wouldn't be able to suppress their souls"
She clenched her fists wanting to hit him but then she raised her sword towards him. Before he could dodge it, he felt blood stain his neck. But the blood wasn't his.
Turns out the Leader of the group of serpent that came had tried to attack the Demon Prince from behind. Luckily Ling Yao stopped his attack before he could touch the Demon Prince.
When he turned around and saw the pale look on the Serpent's face he smirked under his mask.
Before the serpent leader died, he said to the last guardian and the Demon Prince, "Laugh and celebrate all you want. But don't be shocked when the serpents rule eventually".
Ling Yao scoffed at his words. She left the dead serpent leader for the Demon Prince to suppress its soul and she went to look for other serpents that were hiding.
On her way she met the Demon King…
