Chapter 65 - (Extra Chapter) Eirin Day

Under the soft moonlight, I found myself standing in front of Eirin's door at Eientei. Taking a deep breath, I rapped my knuckles gently against the wooden surface. "Lady Eirin." I called out

The door swung open to reveal Eirin's surprised face, illuminated by the gentle glow of the moonlight filtering into the corridor.

"Shun? What brings you here at such an hour?" Her voice held a curious note, tinged with a touch of amusement.

A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I met her gaze. "Well, you see... I couldn't resist dropping by for a special reason." I cleared my throat, gathering my thoughts. "Happy Birthday, Lady Eirin."

Eirin blinked, clearly taken aback by my unexpected visit and the reason behind it. "Oh? For me?" Her expression softened, touched by the sincerity of the gesture. "Thank you, Shun. I appreciate it. And don't worry, you're not the first to avoid asking about my age."

Chuckling softly, I nodded. "I thought it might be best to save you from that question."

Eirin's lips curved into a playful smile. "You're quite considerate, I must admit."

I shifted my weight, feeling a slight nervousness creep in. "Well, I'm glad you like it."

Eirin's gaze turned thoughtful for a moment, her eyes distant. "You know, it's interesting. Seems like everyone's forgotten about my birthday this time, even Lady Kaguya."

Seizing the opportunity, I snapped my fingers, and like a well-coordinated performance, the other lunar rabbits emerged from the shadows behind me - Tewi, Reisen, and even the regal figure of Lady Kaguya. "Surprise! Happy Birthday!"

they chimed in unison, their voices carrying genuine warmth.

Eirin's eyes widened, a mixture of shock and delight crossing her features. "Eh?!"

Tewi stepped forward with her signature grin. "Did you really think we'd overlook your special day? Not a chance."

Reisen joined in, her soft smile radiating affection. "We couldn't possibly let this day go unnoticed."

As if summoned by the occasion itself, the two Lunarian princesses, appeared with a graceful presence. "Happy Birthday, Lady Yagokoro." They bowed. <--- (Watatsuki no Toyohime and Watatsuki no Yorihime)

Eirin's surprise melted into a heartfelt smile, her eyes glistening with gratitude. "Thank you all... This means a lot to me."

I nodded.

Kaguya's voice echoed through the air. "Now, everyone, let's make this a celebration to remember! The moon is still shining, after all!"

Taking a step back, I found myself watching the scene unfold, contentment settling over me. Yet, just as I was about to slip away, Kaguya's voice reached my ears again.

"Shun."

I turned to find Kaguya's gaze on me, her smile both genuine and appreciative. "Thank you, Shun. This celebration wouldn't be the same without you."

"Lady Kaguya," I responded, walking over to her and giving a slight bow. "I'm truly honored to have been included."

Her smile widened, and she offered a playful wink. "The pleasure is all ours."

With a nod, I began to turn away, ready to depart from the lively scene within Eientei.

"Wait," Kaguya called out again.

Turning back, I met her gaze inquisitively.

"Could you do me a favor and crouch down for a moment?" Kaguya's tone was lighthearted, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "You're quite tall, and it's like looking up at a giant."

"Sure thing." I crouched down, meeting her at eye level.

Kaguya's fingers ruffled my hair affectionately. "Good boy~"

Her hands are soft... I couldn't help but smile.

"Thank you, Lady Kaguya."

With that final exchange, I gradually made my way toward the exit, leaving behind the joyful celebration that would remain a cherished memory.
