Chereads / Today Tomorrow Forever / Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

As I stared at the calendar, I couldn't believe that the holidays were coming to an end. With only one week left until school started, I knew I had to make the most of it. But before I could focus on the upcoming term, there was something I had to do first. I needed to visit my sister.

I wanted to see what it was like to be in a house without parents. It was a strange thought, but one that had been on my mind for weeks. As I packed my bags and prepared to leave, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. This was going to be an unfamiliar experience for me, and I was ready to embrace it.

The bus ride to my sister's workplace was nerve-wracking, as always. I sat there, clutching my bag tightly, my heart pounding in my chest. I hated taking the bus, especially in a new city. The thought of missing my stop or ending up in the wrong part of town always made me anxious. But despite my worries, I made it to my destination.

When I stepped off the bus, the rain was coming down in sheets. It was the kind of weather that made you want to curl up under a blanket and stay inside all day. But I had a mission to accomplish. I made my way to my sister's workplace.

She greeted me with a warm smile and handed me a key. "Here you go," she said.

As I unlocked the door to my sister's house, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. Despite the dreary weather outside, I was excited to spend the next two days exploring this new city on my own.

I settled in at my sister's house, which was just as cute and cozy as I remembered it. I fired up my computer and started watching some movies, chatting with my baby Trez the whole time. We talked about everything and nothing, filling the silence with our laughter and banter.

Out of nowhere, Trez asked me when I was coming back. "Tomorrow, why?" I replied, a bit surprised by the sudden question.

"I'm coming to town tomorrow, and I want to visit you," he said. My heart skipped a beat at the thought of seeing him again. I had missed him terribly. The prospect of spending some time with him was thrilling.

"I can't wait to see you," I said, feeling the excitement building inside me once again.

As I heard my sister calling out, I realized it was time to go open the door for her. "Gotta go," I said to Trez. "I'll talk to you later."

"Okay, it's fine" he replied.

I ended the call and went to let my sister in. "Hey, weren't you bored here alone?" she asked as she stepped inside.

"No, I have my laptop, my phone. Do you really think I'd get bored?" I replied sarcastically.

She chuckled. "Well, I bought some meat. I thought maybe we could cook and eat. I have to feed you, or else mom will kill me for starving her last-born."

We both laughed, and I couldn't help but feel grateful to have such a caring sister. As we headed to the kitchen, I noticed she had bought some new dresses.

"You bought new dresses?" I asked, curious.

"You know here at the market, there are very cheap clothes. I passed by and bought some. Maybe I'll give you one," she said, smirking.

The rest of the night was amazing. We cooked dinner and ate while watching a movie together, which I had missed, by the way. I let her have her bed, and I slept on the couch since she had to wake up early in the morning to go to work.

As we said our goodnights and headed off to bed, I couldn't help but think about my plans for the next day. I had plans with Trez, and I prayed that I would arrive on time at my home tomorrow. It had been a while since we had seen each other, and I didn't want to be late. Despite the excitement of the day, the thought of seeing him again made it hard to sleep. My mind raced with thoughts of what we would do and what we would talk about. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and I fell into a deep sleep.

**

I woke up at the sound of my phone ringing, and I saw Trez's name flashing on the screen. I answered, still in a sleepy mood, "Hello?"

"Wake upppp," he said playfully, and it made me chuckle at the thought of that. We talked for a bit, catching up on how the night went. Eventually, I told him that I had to prepare myself for the day ahead.

After hanging up, I realized that I had some chores to do for my sister before heading home. I had to wash the dishes and clean the house, and I only had two hours to do it since it was already 8 am. I quickly got out of bed and started to work, hoping to finish everything on time. As I scrubbed the dishes and swept the floor, I couldn't help but think about Trez and the excitement of seeing him again after all this time. It was hard to concentrate on the chores at hand, but I knew I had to finish them quickly to avoid being late.

As I worked on the chores, the time seemed to fly by, and before I knew it, it was already 11 o'clock. My sister came back from work, and she immediately started telling me that I couldn't leave without eating lunch. I tried to refuse, telling her that I had to leave soon, but she was insistent, convincing me to sit down and have something to eat.

Reluctantly, I agreed, knowing that it wouldn't take too much time. As I sat down at the table, my sister prepared a quick lunch for us both.

After eating, I quickly finished up the remaining chores, knowing that I had to leave soon. I gathered my things and prepared to head out when my sister stopped me. "You're not leaving without saying goodbye, are you?" she asked, giving me a hug. "Take care of yourself, and have fun."

I hugged her back, feeling grateful for the love and support. "I will," I said, before heading out the door.

I rushed out of my sister's house, my heart pounding in my chest as I made my way towards the bus station. The urgency of the situation was not lost on me, and my mind raced with thoughts of all the possible ways I could make it to my appointment with Trez on time.

Just as I arrived at the station, my phone began to ring, and I answered it with a sense of dread in my voice.

"Hey, I just arrived. Are you there yet?" Trez asked, his voice laced with concern.

My heart sank. I was already late, and I knew that time was running out. But I didn't want to disappoint him.

"I'm on my way," I replied, trying to keep the desperation out of my voice. "Just walk around there, I'm coming okay?"

"Okay, but don't be too late, right?" he said, his tone still tinged with worry.

"I promise," I said firmly, determined to make it to him on time.

As I got off the phone, I frantically searched for the right bus that would take me home.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the bus arrived and I boarded it, grateful for a seat. I sat there, nervously tapping my foot as the bus slowly made its way through the city. Every minute felt like an eternity, and I couldn't shake off the feeling of anxiety that had settled in my chest.

I hopped off the bus, frustration gnawing at my insides. The clock was ticking, and I was still far from my destination. I considered my options as I glanced around the unfamiliar street. Maybe I should take a cab or bike. But then, I remembered my tight budget, and my heart sank. I had to make do with what I had.

As I waited for the next bus, my mind was racing with thoughts of Trez leaving before I got there. I couldn't bear the thought of missing out on it. I paced back and forth on the sidewalk, checking my phone every few seconds for any updates.

Finally, the bus arrived, and I climbed aboard, relieved but still anxious. The ride was excruciatingly slow, and every minute felt like an eternity. I couldn't help but curse under my breath, wishing I had taken a bike or ran home instead.

As I checked the time once again, my heart dropped. It was already 1 PM, and I was still far from home. What if I was too late?
