Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

As I opened my eyes, the sun peeked through my window, signaling the start of another school day at the school I had called home for the past three months. I stretched my arms and let out a big yawn, knowing that today would be just like every other day I had spent here.

Sitting in my networking class trying hard to follow the instructor, but I couldn't help but feel a pang of homesickness as I thought about my family back home, But I remembered I had a braces appointment in like a week to get them readjusted.

As I was trying so hard not to doze off, I decided to find someone to talk to and share my excitement with, and i think Trez is the perfect guy for that

"Heyyyyyyy," I typed out, hitting send and waiting for his reply.

"Hi, how are you??" Trez's response came almost immediately, and I couldn't help but feel a wave of relief wash over me. I had been worried that he might not have time to talk, but it seemed like fate was on my side today.

"I am good. Youu??" I responded, eager to get the conversation going.

"Good too," he replied, and I could sense his curiosity starting to pique.

"Can I tell you a secret?" I typed out, adding a grin emoji to show that I was excited.

"hhh yeah," he replied, his own grin starting to show on his face.

"I didn't really think that you would remember me," I revealed, feeling a bit embarrassed as I did so.

"Yeah, it happens but not for a person like you," he replied, making me even more curious about what he meant.

"What do you mean?" I asked, unable to contain my curiosity any longer.

"Never mind. Time will come," he replied, leaving me with more questions than answers.

I didn't pry any longer, not wanting to spoil the fun of our conversation. Instead, I decided to change the topic and make things more lighthearted.

"By the way, I really like your sweater. I'll steal it one day," I sent, adding a playful tone to my message.

"Hhh, you want it?" Trez replied, his own amusement shining through with an accompanying emoji.

"Yeahhh, it's pretty awesome," I replied, grinning to myself as I imagined how I would look in his sweater.

"Then come get it after classes," he replied, and I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. It was rare to find someone who could make me forget about the boredom of life at school, and Trez had managed to do just that.

"Can I come with you, Chance?" I begged my classmate. She was scheduled to give a training in another class, and it happened to be Trez's class. I didn't want to participate in the training in my own class, and I thought it might be fun to go along with Chance.

"Okay, okay, but only you. And you're going to come as my personal assistant or something," she said, smiling at me.

With a grin on my face, I followed Chance out of the classroom and down the hallway towards Trez's class, wondering what the day had in store for me.

"Good afternoon class," Chance started off saying as we got there. She introduced the lesson of the day and made introductions, and we did some icebreakers. As the session continued, the other students opened up about their experiences at the new school. When it came to the question and answer portion, Chance asked the new students, "So any of you guys tell me how you saw the school?"

As the students hesitated to speak up, one of them finally stood up and voiced his opinion about the school's infrastructure. I couldn't help but agree with him, and I silently nodded my head in approval. But then, to my surprise, I saw Trez's hand shoot up in the air.

"I love how you guys are like a family," he said with a genuine smile, causing confusion among everyone else in the room.

"Are you sure?" Chance asked with a hint of surprise, knowing that most people kept to themselves at this school.

Trez went on to explain, "For me, when I first arrived, there was this person who greeted me and gave me a warm welcome that I've never experienced before. It's my first time seeing someone that kind."

My heart skipped a beat as soon as he finished speaking, and I felt a rush of shyness wash over me. I knew he was talking about me, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride that I was able to make such a positive impact on someone's first impression of our school and with that being said I stood up and went to get some air.

After a few minutes, I composed myself and walked back into the classroom, ready to continue the day's activities. The training continued, and we spent the rest of it doing some team-building activities and outdoor games. As the games came to an end, the sound of laughter and chatter died down as the rain began to fall. Everyone hurried back to the classroom, but as we made our way inside, I realized that I had forgotten my sweater. I cursed under my breath, knowing that I was going to be cold and miserable for the rest of the day without it.

But then I remembered something Trez had said earlier in the day. He had mentioned that he had a spare sweater. I could feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment. I didn't want to ask for his help, but I knew that I had to.

As I approached him, my heart pounding in my chest, he turned to me with a smile. "Hey," I said, feeling nervous.

He looked at me with concern. "Aren't you cold?" he asked.

"A little," I admitted, feeling foolish.

"Come with me to class," he said, taking my arm. "I have another sweater that I can give you."

As we made our way to his classroom, I felt a sense of relief. Trez was always so kind, and I knew that he wouldn't judge me for forgetting my sweater. But as we talked and talked, the rain continued to pour down heavily, and we were forced to take shelter.

We stood there together, the raindrops falling around us. It was as if time had slowed down, and we were the only two people in the world. We talked about everything and nothing, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for his company.

Eventually, the rain subsided, and we made our way to his classroom. As he handed me the spare sweater, I couldn't help but feel grateful for his kindness. But as I looked around the classroom, I felt a sudden pang of shyness remembering the looks I got the last time I was here.

Trez must have noticed my discomfort because he took the sweater from my hands and stepped closer to me. "Let me help you with that," he said, his voice low and soothing.
