Chapter 104 - At my Beck and Call

"Hazel?" Lauren called out, her voice filled with pertain and concern. She had been searching for her best friend for hours, growing more anxious with each passing minute. 

Lauren's heart pounded in her chest as she anxiously awaited a response. The eerie silence only deepened her unease, leaving her with a sinking feeling in her stomach.

The moon was up above her head, the clouds had disappeared, and she could just make out the old trees and the cracking bridge sounds beyond them. The sound made a real horror scene from some movies, which Lauren had never liked.

But she didn't stop there; instead, she walked more in, and her heart began beating fast. She tried to ignore it, but her whole skin was tingling with awareness, and the fine hairs on her arms were standing up. Between the gusts of wind, every sound seemed horribly magnified; the crunching of their feet on the snowy path was deafening.
