Lauren was hoping to keep it that way as she finally reached the mouth of the corridor. 'Just a little farther,' she told heeself as she made it around the corner.

But, eventually, she gave herself one more second to take stock stomach rolling, knees shaking, body hurting and then say screw it and started staggering up the old corridor as fast as her abused ankles can carry her.
With determination to make it out alive from here she stood. Lauren had only gone about thirty to forty feet when something hit her from behind, send her pitching forward, and she hit the ground all over again.
