Chapter 41 - DESOLATE AURA HOVERING OVER AN ANCIENT SHIP

He moved unpredictably towards her as his fists released fumes of both dark energy and spiritual energy. On the other hand, the woman just stood there letting his punch descend upon her with a smirk plastered on her face . Ryan was startled at first by her behavior thinking that she had a hidden card making him to apply even more force displeased by her, underestimating him.

Pah!

She was forced back more than five steps before coming to a halt, surprise appearing on her face for she refuse to accept that a mere mortal can force her to move a step.

He is just a mortal, right. I have really underestimated him.

" It looks like you have some skills. This is going to end now! She declared with a forced smile unwillingly. She finds it unacceptable and embarrassed to fight seriously against a mortal. How will she stand in the midst of her fellow ancestral realm experts when they found out that she exchanged blows seriously with a mortal. Do you know her status matters. This should be a crushing defeat for her.

" That will depend if you are able to make me submit. " He will make sure he erase that smug on her face for looking down on him. What if I am a mortal? You are just a realm higher than me, right. What is so special about that, you are not god alright. He had a contemptuous look towards her.

" Brazen! I will make you regret this. "

The woman moved without relying on her ability as to her, Ryan was not someone to take seriously. Even if she didn't used her ability she was still faster than him reaching close to him in an instant before moving her palm. " Domineering Palm Technique. " Her palm suppressed him by putting pressure on him as if he was carrying an entire house on his shoulders. If that punch was delivered, if he is not lucky, he would surely be crippled but if he is lucky, he would pass out. The woman was ruthless.

Ryan quickly run his ION body erasing the domineering effects of the punch before moving behind the woman in a tricky angle. " You keep surprising me. " She was shocked to find that there is a person that can nullify the effect of her punch. She jerked before turning around swiftly to intercept the oncoming punch which was burning with a black flame. The next second her brows furrowed, although his punch seemed as if it was about to miss her, it suddenly changed its trajectory midair and thrust her stomach. She skidded accross the sandy floor with a pale face for she didn't expect him to be able to accomplish such a maneuver. Do you know what it takes and how long it takes to be able to do that. A cruel glint flashed on her face greed encompassing her. She was jealous for not having such a technique. His interest on him arose even further. She sweared she will get that technique out of this trash. In her eyes such a fine technique was being wasted by him.

She spat blood angrily and stood up.

" So annoying, we will end this now. " She started chanting a spell as the tattoos on her body danced powering her chant. His face darkened after realizing what she was trying to do. He run his ION body like a mad man trying to dispel the effects of the spell but he was disappointed this time. That was an ancestral level ability after all.

His eyelids felt heavy and he fell to the sandy floor staggeringly like a drunkered. On the corner of his eyes, he can see a complacent look on her face as she strode towards him.

Ryan opened his tired eyes and found himself inside a dimly lit room. The first thing he saw was surprisingly a quiver on the wall with some arrows that reminded him of the day he competed with the mortal beasts for the core fruits.

" It is that bitch that tried to assassinate me when I was picking those fruits! " After knowing this, he was completely sober. He pushed the thought of revenge at the back of his mind and decided to search for her first.

He searched all the rooms in that house without finding her trace. It was like she had never existed in the first place. Her presence completely erased. A desolate aura that engulfed the whole house rendered him uncomfortable and lonely in that dark thoughts started sprouting in his mind. Only some primitive tools, beasts skin and bones, humanoid skeletons and disorganized arrangement of things filled the rest of the rooms haphazardly. Since she was not in that house, he decided to move out and search elsewhere.

What appeared in front of his eyes was not what Ryan expected to see. Surprise, anger, dejection and an act of refusal appeared on his face. The house he had came from was among the many cluster of houses on top of each other and stretching further as far as his eyes could see. These cluster of houses were on an ancient ship that was floating in the middle of nowhere. He also confirmed that it seems he was the only person on the island-like ship as an aura of desolation hovered around the massive ship. He can only see birds which had made a nest on the several empty houses flying over the sea in search for food. He scanned around the ship and his eyes could not even see the end of the wide black sea from where he was standing.

" The person who constructed this ship was immensely wealthy. Even on Earth, there is no something like this. " Ryan admitted in reverence. " How did I even come here? It also must have taken her weeks or should I say months for her to bring me here. It looks like I have been out for a long time."
