Chapter 13 - Elias Godspeed

Elias Godspeed here, but I'm guessing you knew that already. The name kinda gives it away, doesn't it? Anyway, let me tell you a little more about myself. I ended up at Noxus at the behest of my grandpa, who, honestly, might be a tad loony. I mean, who in their right mind sends their only grandson to the most dangerous academy around? But there he was, insisting that Noxus was "the best one for me." Best for me? Seriously? I'm basically part of the Godspeed family, the speed demons of the century! I can pick up skills like lightning, and honestly, why would I even need to attend an academy?

I was about to let loose a barrage of protests, but then, everything went black. Yeah, I kid you not. One moment I'm all worked up, and the next, unconscious. My grandpa's speed was so off the charts that I didn't even have time to react. When I finally came to, there I was, face-to-face with some instructor who was ready to explain my "situation."

Turns out, my dear old grandpa whisked me here while I was out cold. Yeah, he's like that. The kind of guy who thinks kidnapping his grandson and throwing him into the lion's den is just good ol' family bonding. I'm telling you, sometimes I wonder if he's secretly part squirrel or something.

Anyway, let's talk about my lineage. I'm a Godspeed, part of the fastest family to ever grace this earth. Our jam is the [Speedster] Gift – that's the fancy term for it. You know what that means? We're like sonic boom on steroids. Our agility and speed can make even the fastest sloth look like a statue. We're not just fast physically, though. This Gift gives us a mental turbocharge. Our thoughts move at breakneck speeds, and we can learn pretty much anything in the blink of an eye. Oh, and yes, we can run like the wind, kill like the flash of a blade, and...well, let's just say it comes in handy in more intimate activities too. But, uh, we'll move on from that topic real quick.

Speaking of Noxus, I met this guy named Aiden Ouroboros. Yeah, that name rings a bell, right? He's that commoner who somehow sneaked into the top three. I'll admit, I was surprised. Not that I'm prejudiced or anything, but commoners making it big in this Gifted world is like finding a unicorn at a zoo. Aiden seemed strong, though, and his brain was like a computer on turbocharge. He actually finished the third test in half the time I did. Now, that might not sound like much, but hey, I'm Mr. Speedster, remember? For me to admit that he aced something faster than me is, well, a big deal.

And then there's his battle with Marcus. You know the Holts, right? Fire mages extraordinaire? Marcus is their heir, and I thought he'd toast anyone who dared cross his path. But there's Aiden, extinguishing his flames faster than I could polish off a pizza. It's like he has this untamed fire inside him, ready to consume anything in his way.

I've got to say, I'm curious about Aiden. There's more to him than meets the eye, and I'm pretty sure he's hiding a bunch of cards up his sleeve. And Kara, too. She's got that frosty demeanor that could rival Elsa, but I'm willing to bet there's more to her story as well. Noxus is turning out to be quite the melting pot of intriguing characters, and I'm looking forward to seeing what other surprises this place has in store for us.
