''Master, see,'' Gudra muttered in his usual servile tone.
In between his talons was a brown parchment, covered in dust. He flew to Jerouch's side and then dropped it on the latter's shoulder.
''I found it in the biggest house in the village,'' Gudra explained.
Jerouch picked the brown parchment from his shoulder and unfolded it carefully, afraid that he was going to tear the old paper should he apply too much pressure.
After opening the parchment, Jerouch began to read through the contents scrupulously.
His eyes darted left and right, sometimes squinting them in confusion, and at other times, his eyes would brighten up in understanding.
This took about five minutes, and Gudra was already on his shoulder as he tried to read what was in the parchments. However, it was obvious that the latter could not read.
''You did well,'' Jerouch muttered with a grin.
