' That makes it even more fun. ' Jerouch giggled.
''Go ahead,'' he muttered softly with an unperturbed expression.
''Eh?'' Azel gasped, gis eyes rolling.
'' You're not deaf. '' Jerouch squinted his eyes sending a piercing gaze.
'' Ah, alright. Let's go. '' Azel turned and ordered his group to leave, scepticism filling his tone.
The apprentices and the guards were also confused, but the fear in their eyes overshadowed it.
They turned their carriages to change their directions and that's when…
'' Impudence! '' Edwin, the assassin among the assailants, scoffed.
'' Shadow blast. '' He waved his thin black sword forward and his dark, one star grimoire that floated in the air.
A thick shadow construct that resembled a lance left the mouth of the sword as it aimed at Azel.
'' Tsk. '' Jerouch smirked.
He bent down and struck his two palms on the ground.
'Earth wall.'
'Water barrier.'
A large wall of rocks and mud that reached a height of ten meters sprouted out from the ground and extended for about a hundred meters.
Not only that, a thin blue sphere of water coated the wall.

The shadow construct hit the wall, and its collision force spread far and wide, making Azel and his group fall to the ground as they lost their balance.
'' T-this, are you sure he can fend them off alone? '' One of the apprentices with tanned skin stammered in apprehension.
'' As if we can do anything about it. '' Azel was fuming inside, and the apprentice might be the one to receive his transfer of aggression.
'' You sure have a flamboyant skill for an assassin. '' Jerouch taunted with a mocking chuckle as he parried the attack.
''Who are you?'' Edwin asked, his eyes locking on Jerouch in full alert.
'' Even a walking corpse now asks questions? '' Jerouch raised his eyebrows, acting as though he were truly surprised which further infuriated the assassin.
'' You! ''
'' Me what?'' Jerouch kicked the ground and jumped, doing three flips in mid-air.
Small orbs made of pure mana energy hit where he was previously standing and a loud boom resonated in the area.
'' A class that utilizes raw mana? No. '' His eyes sharpened as he saw one of the figures pull out something that looked like a gun.
Jerouch brought out his staff and clashed with the assassin.
He bent backwards in a ninety-degree position, dodging the thin sword that passed over his face blowing his hair.
Bending further down, he rested on his left leg and use the right to kick the assassin in a sweep motion.
'' Hmph. ''
Before the kick could land though, an ice shield formed at the spot where Jerouch hit.
The ice shield shattered, but he had lost the momentum.
He felt another mana bullet coming from his six o'clock direction, and he quickly used earth wall.
'' Fireball. ''
Ten balls that cracked with blazing red flame roared in the sky as they fell downward.
'' Ice shields. '' The assailants' leader, Ratley waved his hands.
Pure snow blue shields shot out from his grimoire and manifested at different angles forming a canopy that clashed with the fireballs.
Edwin the assassin withdrew from the battle since direct onslaught wasn't his forte.
Marin, the one with what seemed to be a gun and Ratley then took over.
'' Snow forest. '' Ratley chanted a new spell.
As the spell was activated,Jerouch suddenly felt the temperature drop to an abnormal degree, even with his robe on.
Snowy flowers with thorns sprouted from the ground, and the breeze became chilly and sharp.

' I've not even received any direct attack, yet, my health has dropped by fifty points. ' Jerouch mumbled.
' Earth spikes. ' He muttered, but he soon frowned as the spikes froze in ice.
'' Mana canon. '' Marin bellowed and a thick cube of red mana about a meter long and wide on each side shot forward.
' This is bad. ' Jerouch's eyes jumped as he shot backwards.
'Earth wall.'
'Water barrier.'
Small but concentrated barriers formed, intercepting him and the attack.
Another explosion resounded and the two barriers crumbled.
The red explosive wave spread out, almost about to catch Jerouch.
He increased his speed backwards, but that was when he felt a presence before him. An explosive energy wave from the back and an assassin in the front.
yet, Jerouch didn't stop, as his mind calculated the possible approach that was the best in this situation.
Edwin, who was in hiding, smirked, seeing Jerouch coming his way.
' You're only delaying your death. ' He grinned as he gently readied a spell.
Jerouch, on the other hand could roughly sense Edwin's position, but not too accurately. However, that was more than enough.
' Lightning glove. ' He whispered.
The staff in Jerouch's hand disappeared, and he approached Edwin without evading.
'' W-what. '' Edwin's eyes were dilating in horror and surprise as he felt his throat crushed.
A few seconds back
Jerouch pressed forward and allowed Edwin's sword to pierce his palm.
Pushing further, the sword came out from the back of his hand, but that brought him closer to Edwin.
Grabbing his neck with the lightning glove, he electrocuted him and crushed his throat.
The process was so fast that Edwin had no time to process it before his eyes lost shine.
' One down. 'Jerouch muttered, with zero concern.
'' Edwin!! '' Marin screamed with bloodshot eyes seeing what just happened.
Her heart palpitated, and she felt chills down her spine.
This person didn't mind sacrificing his hand just to finish the enemy.
'' Dangerous. '' That was the only thought that came to Ratley before he had a change in expression.
' Sprint. 'Jerouch picked Edwin's body and sprang forward, dodging another red energy which exploded.
' As if I'll let you destroy my spoil. ' He thought.
Shielding Edwin with earth barrier, he again launched himself forward.
'Lightning bolt.' Jerouch finally activated one of his powerful but low AOE skills.
The sky straight away darkened and became clouded.
A thick blue lightning bolt, that twisted like a snake, roared in the sky as it came down with intense force and speed.
Fear struck both Ratley and Marin as they saw the lightning.
'' Ice mountain. ''
'' Mana bomb. ''
Immediately after they activated these spells, the mana in the environment began to fluctuate.
'' A tall mountain that reached more than fifty meters manifested on the ground close to Marin.
The thick lightning bolt zoomed downward and clashed with the ice mountain.
There was a brief pause that came with an eerie silence before a large explosion resounded.
Cracks appeared from the top of the ice mountain down to the bottom, and then…
Boom!
Ice fragments flew everywhere with strong collision force.
The lightning bolt, on the other hand, had yet to lose its momentum, and it pressed downward, but that was when Marina's spell activated.
Jerouch saw the mana around the lightning bolt suddenly compressed before it expanded again.
An explosion louder than the previous one rang out and the three of them were blown away.
'Just as I calculated.' Jerouch smirked as he watched his trap unfold.
