Jerouch felt cold chills permeate through his pores as they entered deep into the corridor that connected the staircase and the basement below.
They took their first steps on the stairs, no one willing to say anything, as the atmosphere drifted in a gloomy silence, the echoes of their footsteps eerily striking against the dimly lit walls.
''Hey, anyone got a good joke? The silence is begining to creep me out,'' from the back, a lady muttered. Her voice, splashed with solemness.
''That's a good idea,'' A big guy replied with a nod lf approval.
Jerouch and Zephyr were at the front, neither of them saying anything.
Their eyes darted everywhere, their expression grim and cold.
''We're five meters below the ground level.'' Jerouch whispered, not glancing at Zephyr.
Zephyr nodded, and they proceeded, not minding the little noise coming from the back.
