Amelia looked towards Alexander and smiled sweetly. Alexander nodded back at her.
However, Amelia's complexion was not great; despite the light makeup, it couldn't hide her pale face and weary eyes.
Amelia slowly made her way to the back of the classroom. "I'll give up my seat for you," offered a man sitting by the aisle, standing up gallantly.
"No need, thank you. I'll stand at the back for a while," Amelia replied with a smile.
After speaking, Amelia walked straight to the open space at the back of the classroom, and the cluster of boys there conscientiously made room for her.
Amelia had just settled in when another girl, impossible not to notice, entered through the classroom door.
Emma looked at Alexander with wide eyes, surprised, and exclaimed, "Alexander, it really is you! I always thought you were just boasting before!"
"I seldom boast," Alexander responded.
