Orc Attack Countdown: 1 day 3 hours 19 minutes 30 seconds.

The setting sun cast a warm glow on the monument in the City of Hope, painting the surroundings in a golden hue.

Around the monument, dozens of young apprentice craftsmen were busy moving stones, digging trenches, and constructing wooden defensive structures. Their sweat fell onto the earth, a testament to their hard work in defending their home.

To the east of the monument, a group of soldiers underwent rigorous training, preparing to bravely face the orc onslaught. Their shields traced bright arcs in the air.

Meanwhile, thousands of miles away on a snowy mountain, a woman of indescribable beauty gazed toward the City of Hope.

"How has he ended up in such a place? I can feel that his fate is now bound to this city," the beautiful woman frowned in concern.

She stared in the direction of the City of Hope for about ten minutes.

Her gaze was fixed on a man, Alexander, who had recently parted ways with her.

"The barriers of this world are becoming increasingly fragile, and this place is close to a rift in space-time. Could he be in danger?" A look of worry crossed the woman's stunning face.

This beautiful woman was Laura, who had previously shared an intimate moment with Alexander in a secret chamber.

With Alexander's help, Laura had been rid of the toxin in her body, but she found herself unable to stop thinking about him since that enchanting night.

Laura reflected on the properties of the Cupid toxin, sighing to herself. "Once the Cupid toxin is dispelled, the one who was poisoned inevitably falls in love with their savior, an unchangeable fact for anyone."

Though she verbally resolved to sever ties with him, Laura struggled to control her heart when it came to actually leaving. She couldn't help but yearn to return to Alexander.

Laura even thought, if she were just an ordinary woman, she would not hesitate to marry Alexander and stay with him forever!

However, Laura's identity as the Goddess of Life was not just a descendent of the God-King, but she also carried a special mission.

This deepened Laura's worries.

As a supreme deity, Laura possessed exceptional vision, and Alexander's handsome features were clear to her from afar.

With her beautiful eyes fixed on Alexander, a thousand miles away, her longing for him grew stronger.

As the minstrels say, when you fall in love with someone, the more you look at them, the more endearing they become.

Laura touched her own cheek, a blush involuntarily coloring her face as she thought of him.

Inside the City of Hope.

Alexander was inspecting the newly constructed defensive fortifications, worried by their somewhat rudimentary appearance.

With only a day left before the orc assault, his forces were still not substantial.

Alexander had no allies to rely on; he had to depend solely on himself.

Though he had resurrected about a thousand soldiers, they were all low-level and had limited combat effectiveness.

Therefore, Alexander was uncertain if he could withstand the orc siege for an hour or more.

After completing the inspection of the fortifications, Alexander decided to prepare a feast for his troops that evening.

He planned to lead a hundred-man squad to hunt some demon rabbits.

With this in mind, Alexander headed towards the wasteland where the demon rabbits congregated.

In his bronze armor, his movements were somewhat clumsy but offered a sense of security.

"What is he doing?" Laura wondered about his actions.

As the dimensional rift had become increasingly fragile, Laura was deeply concerned that Alexander might accidentally wander into a dangerous area. With this worry weighing heavily on her, she hurriedly flew toward the direction of the City of Hope.

Alexander returned to the wasteland and found that the previously cleared demon rabbits had reappeared in even greater numbers.

At first glance, there were ferocious demon rabbits everywhere, at least a thousand of them.

"Where are all these rabbits coming from? Their breeding rate is too high!"

Alexander sighed as he looked at the countless rabbits grazing on the grassland.

"No matter. I'll kill these demon rabbits and use them to make a feast for my soldiers!"

After several days of training, Alexander's soldiers had become braver and more formidable than before.

The hundred-man squad, composed of spearmen and crossbowmen, spread out across the grassland and began an organized assault on the ferocious rabbits.

The spearmen stood closely together, forming a solid line of defense. They held their spears steady, pointing their sharp tips towards the approaching rabbits.

Meanwhile, the crossbowmen stood behind them, ready to shoot arrows in support of the frontline spearmen.

Whenever the rabbits tried to breach the spear line, the spearmen accurately targeted their weak points, quickly defeating the fierce creatures.

The rabbits that tried to flee were shot down by the precise arrows of the crossbowmen, unable to escape their fate.

Under the coordinated attack of the hundred soldiers, the demon rabbits could not withstand the carefully planned assault. Soon, their numbers on the grassland dwindled, with their corpses piling up like a small hill.

Alexander, commanding the troops from the rear, had a satisfied smile on his face.

He knew this victory would greatly boost the morale of his soldiers. The demonic rabbit meat would serve as a delicious meal for their, energizing them for the imminent orc invasion.
