Olaf's response was surprisingly... kind. Meiden truly loved and cared for his son, but some life choices he had made had pushed them apart. Maybe not forever, though.
"It's also something very good for me," David said. He didn't dare elaborate, however, because he couldn't put into words what he was feeling.
Olaf nodded with a smile. He poured the contents of the glass into the ice bucket and took two new ones from the tray. He handed one to David, which the latter accepted without the slightest hesitation.
"I don't know if this is the right time to ask, but how do you like this party?"
