"Hey! Are you all right?!"
Someone's shout brought David back to reality.
"Put me down," he asked, moving restlessly.
Gustav immediately put him on the ground, but did not let him out of his embrace. He wanted to make sure David could stand on his own.
That was sweet of him. David had to admit it. If he could, he would never have abandoned Gustav's arms, but they were not alone here and....
"I don't want others to think that something happened to me. You know, like an athlete who walks off the field by himself after an accident..."
"I know," replied Meiden quietly, but very calmly. He understood. After all, he was so wise and so understanding!
David's feet were already stepping boldly on the ground.
"Our horses..." he suddenly realized, and looked around in search of the mounts, which were calmly walking loose where they had left them.
David breathed a peaceful sigh. They hadn't run away. Thank goodness.
