"Did you tell him?"
David opened his mouth to answer his cousin, but all he could do was blush from embarrassment. Only after a moment did he manage to croak out of himself:
"I forgot. And you know what, I don't think I'll take part in this after all..."
"Are you crazy?" indignant Philip said and clasped his hands tighter on the handlebars of his bike. "After all, this is a huge opportunity for you!"
"Yes, I know, but..."
"You don't want to give up this chance because of him, do you?"
Philip was clearly angered by such an eventuality.
"No, it's not like that," stated David. "I just..." he took a deep breath. "Being with someone is new to me. Being with Gustav means new opportunities and new commitments. I can't be selfish."
"But you can't give everything to him either. What, now that you have a rich boyfriend, you don't need the competition money anymore?"
"Seriously?"
