David walked ahead with a quickened step. His heart beat faster and harder than his feet hit the ground. He was filled with excitement, but also confidence. There was no longer even a shadow of the hesitation in him from a few minutes ago.
The sun was breaking through the leaves of the park as he led Gustav by the hand. His lover's hand was warm and strong. He himself was like that - warm and strong, giving David the confidence that only this one, no other, can be a man for him.
At least for now.
No, not for now. Forever. David could not imagine that he could ever in the future find himself in the arms of another man.
It was simply impossible.
He didn't understand why? But did he have to understand? Was it not enough that he was certain that no other man could exist beside Gustav, instead of him? Did David have to have an explanation for this? Wasn't what he felt with the fullness of his heart enough?
It was enough.
