The moment the door closed behind Julius, Gustav began to understand that they were in a real swamp.
It was at this point that he began to realize that he should be afraid.
The fear came suddenly and was so strong that if he had more strength in his body, he would have started to litter around the container like a caged wild, terrified animal.
Gustav realized that they had not been kidnapped either for ransom or by fanatics of some ecological or social idea. That was obvious, because these people didn't know who they were kidnapping.
So why did they kidnap the three of them? Just them? And why?
The answer came to him on its own, but it was too absurd and too disgusting for him to believe it. Nonetheless, the 'boss' touched Julius the way he did, as if assessing the quality of the beef.
