David stood for a while longer, looking longingly at the departing Gustav. He didn't want to part with him, but he had to. His parents, by and towards Gustav, were very friendly, very accepting, but if they had something unpleasant to say to David about his boyfriend, they would do it now.
He sighed.
They certainly won't be angry, but they might be disappointed. They might want to convince him to change his mind.
David knew he wouldn't change his mind. Only he really didn't want to argue with his parents.
He couldn't stand there any longer. He closed the gate and entered the house.
"Are you well?" was the first thing he heard from his mother. "You look worried."
"Mom... are you really okay with me dating Gustav, or did you just want to be polite?"
"Oh, David," she came up and hugged him. She hugged him tightly and warmly proving that she was not rejecting him at all.
