Gustav was not wrong to assume that David would be delighted to visit the botanical gardens. It was pleasant to watch him turn into a radiant streak of enthusiasm running from one flower bed to another. Like a child in a candy store, thought Gustav smiling affectionately.
David was beautiful among the flowers, and their conversation in the car gave Meiden an idea why that was so. Dressed in simple black-and-white colors and jeans, he was a gentle spot of calm against the flashy colors. So inconspicuous that it couldn't be more so, that's precisely what attracted the eye. And once a person looked at it, he couldn't stop looking.
