There were so many exciting things going on during the flight that when it came time to get off the plane, David felt disappointed.
Not all things during the flight were pleasant. On several occasions he had the odd, heavy feeling of his ears being plugged or his eardrums suddenly unclogging, accompanied by the redoubled roar of the engine. At times it even seemed to him that in a moment his brain would flow out through those very ears. Brrr, a bizarre sensation. And I guess everyone had a similar one, he thought, looking at the other passengers who had their eyes closed during takeoff and landing.
He tried to imitate them and closed his eyes too, but he was too excited and wanted to see everything, and anyway closing his eyes didn't work that well at all, if it worked at all.
"This strange feeling is normal," Gustav told him explanatorily. He had apparently guessed what David's problem was.
"Yes?"
