Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The splendor before your eyes left you breathless, the vaulted ceiling painted with scenes from an ancient tale; tapestries that stretched across three walls depicting tales of heroes long dead.

However, as fate would have it, you were thoroughly distracted by the flurry of magic explosions obliterating your vision every time a magic spell hit its target: the dragon. After all, you were a mere human in the company of two magical beings, your companion Galena, a witch, and a fearsome crystal dragon. Your presence here was not only an honor but also a grave danger.

"You know what to do, right?!" Galena shouted at you as she threw another fireball at the dragon's head.

You have been tasked with assisting Galena on this quest to save the world from the evil of a dragon. But how could you possibly help?

> You take your sword and begin to charge the dragon.

The dragon snarls and leaps toward you, ready to attack.

"I'm going to have to teach you some manners, boy," Galena says as she takes aim at the creature with her magic.

> You say "Galena, I'll take care of it, you run away and save yourself."

"Are you sure?" Galena asks, looking concerned.

"Of course!" You reassure her.

The dragon approaches you menacingly as Galena casts a spell and hurls a fireball, which hits the dragon square in the chest.

> You with the help of Galena you are about to deliver the last blow when....you see the dragon throwing Galena in the air.

The dragon pounces on Galena and tears her apart with his claws. You watch helplessly as she dies, falling lifeless to the ground.

A ravenous beast stares down at you with its sharp red beak.

driven by anger and sadness, give one last blow to the dragon, which falls to the ground dissolving into a chest, where you find rare objects, including a strange object that manages to resurrect Galena, but on one condition, you will have to pay a price very high, you will have to sacrifice your humanity.

"Well, hello there," Galena says as she appears out of thin air, smiling at you. "What have we here...a brave adventurer who has come to rescue me? And what is that strange contraption around your neck?"

> You ask "But... but... you were killed and torn to pieces by the dragon, why are you there?"

"I am still alive because of that thing," Galena explains. "It brought me back. It's called the Soul Catcher, and it allows me to travel between realms."

"That's great news!"

> You say "Come on, let's go home."

"There's something else I need to tell you first," Galena says, looking troubled.

"What is it?" You ask, suddenly worried.

"I can't stay here any longer."

> You ask "Gale what's going on? What do you mean, you can't stay here anymore?"

"The soul catcher requires a lot of energy, so I don't think I can stay in this world for too long," Galena answers, looking terrified.

"What does that mean?" You demand.

"If I remain here for much longer, I won't have enough energy to return home."

"Then what are we going to do?"

"We must get moving to our next destination," Galena says. "Otherwise, I'll die..."

You notice that Galena is looking pale and weak.

"We're running low on power," Galena says with a sigh. "And the crystal dragon is gaining on us."

"Hold up!" You shout, summoning your shield and taking aim at the dragon.

The crystal dragon rips through the air, ready to attack.

"Our shields aren't going to last much longer!"

> You Apheonites also the crystal dragon, and you see it disappear in the smoke, becoming ashes.

Take Galena in your arms and go to the shaman as soon as possible to find a method to keep Galena from dying.

"Okay, let's move," Galena says.

"Wait! Galena, I'm sorry," you say, feeling guilty.

"Why are you apologizing to me?" Galena asks. "You should be thanking me."

"Thanking you for what?"

"For helping me," Galena explains. "Remember, I told you I had a plan to stop the dragon and save the world?"

"Yes, but..." You feel a little awkward saying this out loud. "It doesn't look like you're doing very well."

Galena grins.

"Don't worry, everything is going according to my plan."

> You ask "And being killed by a dragon was part of your plans?"

"That's right," Galena replies. "I'm glad we got rid of the dragon."

"So, then how did you survive?"

"Oh, I didn't actually die," Galena says, looking surprised. "The Soul Catcher brought me back. We'll talk more about it later."

You nod and keep following Galena.

"But now, I want you to listen carefully to what I have to say," Galena continues. "Because if we don't hurry, I might not have enough energy to return to the Otherworld."

"What do you mean?" You ask.

"The Soul Catcher is draining all of my energy," Galena explains. "Soon, it will run out of power and I won't have enough power to return to the Otherworld."

"How do you know that?" You ask.

"Because I'm the one who designed the Soul Catcher. It's made specifically to bring back souls. And it needs a lot of power."

"Do you have any idea how much power a crystal dragon uses?" You demand.

"Unfortunately, no," Galena says with a sigh.
