When his eyes caught what was in front, looming over with blade-like long shadow arms. It was too late.
*SLASH!*
The 'blade' phased through Andrew's body as if it hadn't touched him at all.
'Andrew!'
Sophia yelled in dismay, she was in the back of the room, thrown on the floor and panting. The shadows all around seemed to take shape into what resembled a gigantic tentacle monster made out of the darkness. Inside those tentacles, there was a girl so hideously battered that she almost looked unrecognisable, Sasha.
'Pitiful boy, you shouldn't have come...'
The 'creature' started to speak with a voice that resembled a shriek straight from the abyss. Andrew's eyes shivered and he regarded down to his torso; there was nothing there initially... no wound, no nothing and yet. He could feel life drifting away.
*THUD!*
His body fell back heavily much to Sophia's anxiousness and fright. She couldn't believe this conclusion, she didn't know what was going on, what this thing was, why it had Sasha or why it was trying to kill Andrew. She tried to crawl his way, but one of those pitch-black tentacles latched onto her leg. Stopping her from moving further even when she tried to fly his way.
'Stand up, Andrew! don't fall on me like this!' Sophia felt responsible, she was the one that asked for his help and brought him here, but now it was too late for regrets. The boy she thought would be helping her from now on, didn't move anymore.
The creature was now a tall shadow silhouette with nothing but two shiny purple dots as eyes stretched his head down in apparent intrigue. Andrew's blue eyes turned lifeless and blurry but... on his torso, the 'cut' drew a shiny sky-blue line that was shining under his clothes, emitting an aura that made the creature take a step back.
The line increased in brightness more and more.
'What-!'
*WHOOOOOOOHHHSSHH!!!!*
It was then when it exploded, a barrage of sky-blue flames was released from that cut as if a big hole was torn open in a container. They shot to the basement's ceiling like a solar flare, lighting up the room in blue mirage colours that shocked the shadow creature and Sophia beyond belief.
The barrage of flames threatened to cover the whole basement and when the fire fell on the creature, it felt it.
"AAAAHHHHHH!!!"
A devastating shriek of pain and the noise of charring flesh ensued as the original shadow silhouette started to flicker in purplish colours, releasing the scared Sophia who could now see the whole being that was equal to a gigantic worm enveloping the whole room.
The flames seemed to form a tree of flames that didn't burn either walls or ceiling, but they attached to it like glue. The shadow worm swiftly tried to evade every single one of those flames and make its way to the exits with Sasha's withering body tightly lashed onto its dark purplish flesh.
Meanwhile, barrages upon barrages of sky-blue flames continued to leave Andrew's torso, his lifeless eyes were still blurry but shining in a deep sky-blue colour just like his originally black hair.
"AAAAAHHHHH!!!"
*BOOOM!*
*BOOOM!*
The creature continued to yell in despair as its body continued to fry like steak on scaling charcoal, destroying the corridor with its rush to leave these accursed premises. On its way out and upstairs, the creature found yet another assailant.
A shadowy figure with a pitch-black coat and a shiny lamp, the same 'person' that Andrew and Sophia had found prior, checking up the campus.
'MAKE WAY, VANQUISHER!'
The creature's hollow voice resonated across the school for anyone capable of hearing it, yet the 'vanquisher' knew not of fear, he immediately flashed his light forward which allowed the shadow figure to see what lay beneath the pitch-black coat.
Yet another creature just as hideous if not more than him. The flesh was like burned oak and its expression had nothing but fury contained within.
'BURN!' The coated vanquisher stated with an equally eerie voice, flashing the light towards the incoming creature yet severely underestimating what it was capable of.
*BOOOMMMM!!!!---
The vanquisher's body got blasted through the school's premises by one of the swings of the shadow worm's tail, it didn't 'phase' through them... it directly blasted those walls like a physical object, alarming all the school guards who felt as if a small earthquake had shook the whole school.
The creature of darkness disappeared through the night, looking back only once with apparent rage shrouded amidst fear, it looked at its charred body, wounds that would never heal.
'THE SIGNATURE OF LIMBO...'

'Andrew!' A confused Sophia made her way towards Andrew who had stopped spitting sky-blue fire like a hose. She felt like this whole room covered in flames was like a scalding oven, the flames scared her, they felt like they'd jump on her at any moment and end her existence, yet instead of running away like she wanted to, she approached Andrew.
The creature was gone together with Sasha, they had come here for nothing but she couldn't just leave him here.
With her hand shivering she wondered what to do, some parts of his clothes were still covered in blue flames. His hair went back to being black and his eyes as blurry as a dead person's. He looked like a corpse.
'Please wake up... you can't die too!'
She tore his clothes away and tried to get rid of the blue flames on his body with them, successfully managing to attack the flames to the torn rags and away from his body. She then picked him up without struggling much and panted, looking for the exit that was luckily visible due to the light created by the flames.
'A-Away... away from here!'
Sophia managed to levitate even with Andrew's body in her arms, she floated up the basement, up the stairs and away from the building's underground... she then jumped through the closest window with Andrew in her arms and flew away from school... too many life-changing events happened in a single moment for her to feel secure at that school.
Upon entering that basement she found a dark world in which only one thing was visible. Sasha... she was hanging with a rope tightly clutched to her neck, struggling to save her own life. Like a helpless prey, she tried to help Sasha, but the latter's gaze indicated for her to flee... it had been too late. The next thing Sophia knew was that she was on the ground with her legs brutalized and unable to stand up, feeling immense pain.
Her instinct was to tell Andrew to not come, but then she saw the creature's true body and could feel nothing but raw fear.
'E-Even then, Andrew...' She looked at the boy in her grasp, still with his eyes open and blurry.
'W-Why did those beautiful blue flames... frighten me way more than that shadow creature?! who are you?! just what is going on?!'
All Sophia could do was fly aimlessly and hope that Andrew would wake up soon, hoping that he wasn't dead.
