Troy's ability was an odd one.
[Air Grip: The user is able to grab the air itself and move it.]
Originally this ability was viewed as fearsome. If potentially trained well, could you cause tornadoes or hurricanes? It only took a year before it was revealed that there was no feasible way for this ability to cause that much damage. This had a limit to its capabilities, and could not exceed a certain point. The weight the wind was able to move couldn't exceed 150 pounds. Keep in mind that this 150 pounds doesn't mean lifting off the ground, but rather able to move even slightly. With enough training the human body would be able to surpass this force. Thus it was deemed Impractical, any situation where it would be of use was too specific.
There was a small overlook to this however. With enough practice you could potentially condense this force to a single point. Like how a spear would drive its force through the tip. Troy couldn't control it to such a precise point, but his control reached a good enough point to become useful in battle.
Currently he could condense the size down to a dodge ball size, and could pull around 100 pounds of force. In a general usage this wasn't good enough, but for battle it really shone through. Suddenly bursts of powerful wind was enough to throw anyone off their balance. Condense that further and you have yourself a damaging attack. Troy utilized these two benefits to move his opponents off their feet and take advantage of the openings, while simultaneously dealing a decent amount of damage.
Troy extended his hands outwards, his arms taking a T position. Fingers curling he swung his hands together and the wind moved in a vortex, slamming into the charging gang. Ones on the outside stumbled sideways and knocked into their fellow gang members, rapidly they tripped and fell over each other creating a pile.
Moving forward Troy lifted his arms up and pulled downwards, wind slammed into the backs of those who tried to stand back up. Approaching one of Sunset's members he lifted his foot and stomped on their face, their nose immediately bent out of shape upon receiving this blow. Pulling upwards wind lifted another's head, making them look towards the ceiling in surprise. With another swift movement he kicked the member's throat, making them choke in reflex.
A ball of white energy shot forth towards Troy. It made no sound as it moved and slammed into his side. Wincing from the hit Troy stumbled to the side. A wound formed from the impact, it felt tingly for some reason. More importantly he could feel warmth spread, it seemed whatever the attack was broke the skin and was causing him to bleed. Despite his clothing being unharmed.
Several members got up from this window and launched themselves towards Troy. This time keeping a reasonable amount of distance between them in case they were tripped again. Troy tugged the air and hit the back of one member's knee, causing them to fall over. Before he could make another move another approached him from behind and grabbed Troy. Pinning him with a full nelson grab he roared, "Get him!"
There was a fatal flaw in Troy's ability. He was limited to pulling the air. This also meant he couldn't cause any wind to move outwards from his body. The most effective movement he could do was pull, a direct air current moving towards him. Otherwise he could cause wind to move horizontally or vertically, but only through a pulling motion. If he couldn't move his arms enough he was unable to pull the wind properly.
Which is why he didn't rely on his ability in most fights. Jumping up he kicked outward and landed two blows on two separate members. Jumping from this impact he flipped backwards, making the one holding him bend awkwardly. The moment the grip on him lessened he freed his arms and landed on his feet. The member who originally had him in a hold spun around and threw a punch with their right hand.
Using his right to pull the air Troy managed to redirect the fist to completely miss. Using his left he took advantage of their now opened guard and delivered a heavy blow to their jaw. A thwack sounded and they became dazed from the blow. Moving swiftly forward he slammed a fist into their nose and knocked them to the ground.
No break for him however, right behind this fighter another two appeared and charged forward! In their haste they forgot to space themselves properly, which Troy took advantage of. Swinging his arms forward in a cross motion he pulled the air to knock both of their heads towards each other. Their skulls bounced causing them to flinch. Moving rapidly he knocked them down with a set of blows.
Rapidly assessing the situation he noticed only three people were unconscious. He had to admit there was some tenacity with this group. His thought process was interrupted by another ball of white energy being shot forward. This time he saw its approach and dodged it. Yet he didn't noticed it bouncing off the wall and heading towards his back. Making an impact Troy nearly swore, what a troublesome ability!
The wielder of this ability would need to be taken out first. Dashing across the floor he approached a group of three blocking his path. Pulling the air he knocked one of their heads forward and met that movement with a flying knee. The member raised their hands and covered their face, a howl of pain filling everyone's ears.
Forced to block a fist Troy swung back, only for his blow to be dodged. Three more swings were performed, each one dodged as well. Realizing he was dealing with someone with a bit of skill he mixed it up with his ability. Feinting a punch he instead tugged the air and knocked them off balance. Kicking forward Troy pushed the target to the ground.
Stepping over the fallen Sunset member he pulled the air up to push their head upwards. The moment the force moved their head Troy stomped down on their head. A howl of pain came from the Sunset member, "Fuck!! Why do you keep going for the nose?!"
A ball of energy shot past as Troy barely managed to dodge it. Bouncing across the walls it gained momentum with each bounce. Speeding up Troy was worried about the potential damage, but the ball ended up hitting one of the Sunset members instead.
Crouching Troy dodged a surprise attack from one of the few standing members. Pulling the air he caused their knees to bend. Shooting up he socked their jaw with an uppercut causing the member to fall unconscious right then and there. Holding his fists up to his head he raised his arms to block a punch. His hands opened and closed as he tugged at the air when moving his arms downwards. Stumbling forward the Sunset member remembered what happened to their comrades and covered their face with their arms. This attempt to block any attacks towards their face was smart, but a predicted move. Troy instead delivered a powerful kick to their open stomach. Doubling over the Sunset member covered their stomach, only to be met with a swift punch to the nose.
Before the member could even fall back Troy caught them and shoved them sideways. An incoming energy ball hitting their back. At the moment the energy ball hit an ally, Troy tugged at the wind and hit the side of the Sunset member's knee. Losing balance the member tried to catch their fall, but a knee struck their jaw causing them to fall unconscious.
With two left Troy figured it should be enough. Morale was at a devastating low and he could see a fearful expression on the faces of who remained. Placing his hands into his pockets he spoke, "Sunset is wiped. Any objections?"
"Why did you come for us?!"
"Is that an objection?", Troy stepped closer to the one who spoke.
Hastily raising their hands they corrected, "No! Sunset is no more, we're done. I just don't understand why you picked a fight with us!"
"I already told you. Moves like this step on the message the Street Dogs are delivering. Taking over this building so soon? Reckless and naive. Whether or not you're becoming a District doesn't matter anyway. If I find you still around you can expect a beating worse than this."
"Shit man! Fine! We're done."
"Good."
Troy left the building casually, as if unbothered by what just occurred. However the moment he was out of sight he immediately reviewed his wounds. His shirt became soaked with blood. The weird white energy balls had practically shredded his skin. Considering himself lucky that the Sunset gang was just some new skin lacking experience, he entered a corner store and bought some quick patches. Slapping them on he moved to visit R-R.
His task was complete. Once he made sure the wounds held no issue his next priority would be reporting this success to Top Dog. Surely this news would make him happy.
