Bowen had somehow bluffed his way out of becoming food for the tribals, but now he found himself in another predicament. All the tribals were looking at him eagerly, their faces filled with worry. In his hand was a large leaf that contained raw mammoth meat, dripping with fresh blood.
"One of the tribal ladies said, "Hora bishi ni-ni sisi (please eat our sacrifice and forgive us, Lord Apostle)."
"Ho bishi (please eat, Apostle)," echoed others.
The chant of "Ho bishi... Ho bishi... Ho bishi..." began among the tribesmen. Nearby, Bowen's companion, Luther, couldn't contain his laughter, thoroughly enjoying the moment.
"Come on, Apostle, you should really eat their offering. Don't make them wait," Luther said between laughs.
Bowen shot Luther a stern look that made him turn away. Mason, on the other hand, looked helpless, fidgeting without knowing how to assist his young master.
