After bidding farewell to Lydia and Luther, Bowen withdrew to his own room, followed by Mason, Xander, and Nicholas. As Bowen settled onto his bed, the other three fell into silence, uncertain about where to initiate their conversation. They harbored numerous questions and concerns that they wished to discuss with Bowen, well aware that their previous way of life could no longer continue.
"As the direct disciple, I will take charge in the absence of the master," Bowen declared.
"Yes, young master, yes," Mason immediately affirmed, evidently content to be under Bowen's leadership.
"If that is the master's decision, then I will comply," replied Xander, bowing. "Slave Xander greets Senior Bowen," he added. Despite Bowen's youth, his position carried authority over everyone.
The butler also made a respectful bow. "This servant greets his new master," he stated.
