"CRACK!" Perrin's whip produced a resounding, crackling sound as Xander writhed in pain, sprawled on the ground. He found it increasingly difficult to breathe as time passed. Despite having no ounce of strength left in his body, he managed to maintain his sanity, eagerly awaiting the arrival of his dear master, Lord Fate.
"DIEE DIEEE DIEEEE..." Perrin shouted, mercilessly slashing his whip repeatedly across Xander's now grotesque and bloodied body.
"Aaaahahhaahaaooww…!!!!!"
There came an agonized cry, which abruptly forced Perrin to halt his whip mid-air. It seemed to come from one of the guards outside the torture room.
"Heheee...heehee..." Perrin observed Xander's blood-soaked face, struggling to form a grin through clenched teeth.
Before Perrin could inquire further, Xander himself spoke, "He is here!" His voice emerged as a faint whisper, all he could muster with his remaining strength.
