Soon, the connection came through.
Nidia heaved a sigh of relief.
At least it meant that there was nothing wrong with Grandma. Old people suffering from cardiac issues should avoid mood swings. In fact, originally Grandma's heart problem had not been so serious. It had worsened in the year when her mother Hannah had died, and it had been becoming increasingly severe since then.
"Nid, you're still at Lily's?"
Grandma's voice sounded fairly normal.
When she had left the house earlier this morning, Nidia had gone to see Lily. She didn't tell Grandma where she was now and just asked, "Grandma, Abby paid you a visit?"
Abby had once gone to the hospital to see her mother, and that had left her motherless. Now, Nidia really didn't like the idea of Abby seeing her Grandma alone.
Grandma smiled, "She did come to me, but it's okay. She spoke ill of you and ended up getting punished by the neighbors. Anyway, she didn't get what she wanted."
