Jackson pushed Nidia against the wall while putting his hand on the back of her head to prevent her from getting hurt.

She wondered why Jackson acted that way.

The garden walls in Samuel's house had tiny bits of broken glass embedded in them, most likely to prevent burglary. It was impossible to touch the walls unscathed.

He could have hurt his hand.

Nidia resisted the urge to check on his hand.

"Did you drink?" Jackson lowered his head and asked. His face was very close to hers that she could feel his hot breath.

Nidia kept quiet. Despite knowing that silent treatment was unhealthy for a relationship, she could not bring herself to be open about her feelings.

Nidia dared lose her cool in front of him because she was certain he would tolerate all her tantrums.

On the contrary, Nidia could always keep a calm and composed demeanor whenever she was dealing with elders.
