"Why... do you have his aura..." the demon hissed.
Akuro was too dumbstruck to realize that the demon was talking to him. 'It's spiritual pressure is so intense... it's more than anything I've ever experienced, I can't even move! My body's frozen!'
"You... aren't... him..." the demon spoke as it raised a hand. What seemed like red liquid then began to pool into a ball in the demon's palm. "Die."
'I need to move! Move!' Akuro screamed mentally for his body to move, but it refused. And then he felt a hand touch his shoulder and a strange vibration ran through his body and his sight went green, then he reappeared inside a small office that looked down at the demon. Just as Akuro looked down through the shattered window, a beam of dark, blood red energy shot from the demon's hand and crashed into the spot Akuro had just been. The being then moved the beam along the building, and Akuro felt a quake beneath him.
"Get back!" He heard Darius roar as he pulled Akuro away from the window, both of them rolling away just as a streak of red burst through the room they were in, splitting the walls.
"This whole place is going down, we need to move!" Darius yelled. "Akuro, snap out of it!"
Akuro shook his head, his consciousness returning to him. 'The hell was that.. it was like I was in a trance.' "Sorry... i don't know what happened."
"It doesn't matter, we need to move! We can't fight that thing!" Darius yelled as he ran to the other side of the building with Akuro following behind. Darius jumped down through the window and onto the street below as green aura began to cover him in a cloak before he became completely invisible.
Akuro jumped after him, but then the demon appeared from nowhere in front of him, so close that Akuro could clearly see it's red eyes through its metal mask. The demon spun midair, it's foot colliding with Akuro's chest as he was sent soaring back through the building and out the side the demon was originally on. The demon gave him no time to recover as it flashed above him and descended, grabbing his throat and crashing him into the ground.
As Akuro struggled under the demon's grip, it extended one of its hands and red, hazy aura began to extend in the shape of a large sword. The being raised the blade into the air before plunging it into Akuro's heart, causing him to cough up blood.
"You are a fake, and for your sin, you shall perish." The demon hissed as it withdrew its weapon and it dispersed, fading in red mist.
The creature turned its back on Akuro's body, and as it did, a black wisp of aura crashed into its back sending it flying through a wall.
Akuro rose from the ground, a gaping hole in his clothes as inky black markings covered his wound, healing it over. His eyes had gone stark white and his aura cloak had materialized about his body, except now the aura was darker than before, with a slight tint of red, and his horns were also larger. His aura had increased due to his emotions as rage overfilled him.
"You came out of nowhere... thinking I was someone you knew, and then you tried to kill me because I wasn't who you thought I was?" Akuro shook his head. "You're fucking dead."
The demon rose from where it had broken the wall on collision. "I see you are still alive. How is it you came to possess his power?"
"Who the hell are you talking about? Who's power? Because I've got no clue, all I know is right now, I want to see your head separated from your body."
"You can try, but you will not succeed." The giant sword reappeared in the demon's hand, and then it swung the blade through the air sending a wave of blood red energy soaring towards Akuro, who simply waved it aside with his dark talons, absorbing the attack's aura before dashing towards the demon.
Akuro moved so fast that he seemed to flash out of existence, the ground cracking where he once stood, then he reappeared behind the demon, his scythe cutting cleanly through its neck. The demon's head tumbled to the ground and it's body stood still.
'Was that it?' Akuro thought, 'really?'
He was wrong. The demon's headless body spun on its heel, its fist crashing into Akuro's face in a downward thrust, crashing his head into the pavement. Akuro's body was frozen from the shock of the impact as the demon grabbed its head and replaced it back on its stump of a neck.
The demon rose its sword into the air, but just then a silver stream of aura screamed through its shoulder, the impact causing its body to spin. At that same moment, Akuro shot to his feet, an expression of pure rage on his face as he rose his arm, black aura forming into massive talons. He then leapt up into the air, raking his talons down the demon's back, leaving massive gashes in its back which sprayed black blood across the street.
Akuro then kicked the demon's body with all his might, sending it spiraling across the road. Rushing after it, his arm poised for another attack. An orb of black aura was compressed into the palm of his hand as he slammed it into the demon's body, sending a shockwave that rattled every building near them and cracking the earth, causing it to tremble.
Akuro was about to continue his attack when the demon released a shockwave of pressure that sent him skidding back a couple yards.
The creature rose to its feet, its body misshapen and hissing with red aura. It's red eyes were locked with Akuro's.
"What is your name boy?" It hissed as its body cracked and snapped back into place.
"Does it matter?" Akuro responded.
"I guess not. You may know me by the name Gallatine, Demon of Chaos and destruction. Before I kill you, I would like to know, how did you come to possess the power you hold?"
"Screw you." Akuro said simply.
"Oh well. You shall die a nameless fool." Gallatine hissed as another shockwave burst from his body. The demon let his blade fade as his body changed, spikes now protruding from his limbs and back. The demon hunched over as his wings disappeared and were replaced by another pair of arms and massive spikes.
Gallatine let out a tremendous roar, then leapt at Akuro who attempted to back away, but was too late as the demon's knee hit him, crushing his ribcage and pinning him to a wall where Gallatine then grabbed him by the head and threw him to the ground.
Akuro raised his hand while getting to his feet. A massive force pulled everything in towards him. Gallatine held his ground, resisting the pull, but didn't seem to realize what was happening as aura condensed in Akuro's hand. As the demon recovered its posture Akuro dashed to him, his hand slamming into Gallatine's face.
"Eclipse!"
Another burst of energy condensed between his hand and the demon's head before exploding outward, eviscerating Gallatine's body from the head down as a massive shockwave crashed into the surrounding buildings, causing some of them to crumble under the force as the blast wave swallowed the street, leaving nothing in its path.
When the explosion faded, Akuro stood at the edge of a giant crater, breathing heavily. He'd not only used the energy he'd absorbed but also his own aura, so the effect was much greater than before, the attack swallowing not just the street but the buildings around it.
And then Akuro froze. A red mist floated there at the crater's epicenter, forming the body of Gallatine.
The demon raised both hands then, the earth splitting under its feet, the cracks giving off a ghastly red glow.
"I have not the time for this… this little skirmish will-" the demon stumbled forward, the red light faltering. "What... is... this...?" Gallatine fell to his knees as his arms began to fade, followed by his body. Darius appeared behind the demon, a silver bow in one hand and a dagger in the other.
"Damn you... this is not the end, others will come for you and your false power!" Gallatine hissed as his body faded into nothing.
Then there was silence. Ash fell from the sky, painting a gray shade along the city streets. Akuro fell to his knees, exhaustion taking him over as he tried to catch his breath.
"What... the fuck was that thing?"
"A demon. Why are you surprised? If there are gods there are sure to be the opposite." Darius spoke.
"I'm not surprised they exist, I just don't know why it came after me."
"It kept ranting about how you have the aura of someone he knows. Maybe it's because of your dark aptitude?"
Humans ran about the streets in turmoil, still screaming and crying with anguish and fear. Some simply stood in silent awe.
Akuro threw his head back in a frustrated groan. 'Can't I just live in peace and watch anime and all that good shit without these assholes all coming after me just because I'm strong?' He complained in his head.
"Well, it's a good thing we had this dagger then, aye? Otherwise we'd of been in a pretty big bind." Darius laughed.
"Yeah, sure." Akuro was too tired to care or laugh. "Ironic, the weapon you were given to kill me ended up saving me."
"I'd say. You trust me now?"
"Eh, we'll see."
"Seriously? Screw off."
Akuro smiled, too exhausted to laugh. Darius walked up to Akuro, placing his hand in his shoulder. "Here, this should help." Darius sent his aura through his hand into Akuro's body. Thought Akuro's Aura Cloak had faded, black marks still covered his body where his wounds were, working vigorously to heal his wounds. At first the healing process was slow but now that Darius had shared his aura, the process was sped up by a large degree.
When he felt that he'd recovered enough, Akuro rose to his feet, stretching. He took in the destruction around them, sirens blaring in the distance.
"Oi, well this may be bad." Akuro said.
"You think? Cuz I think that might be worse." Darius pointed down the street and Akuro turned to see Inari storming toward them, an enraged expression on her face.
"Oh boy." Akuro said simply.
"This'll be fun." Darius said as he began to call his aura and go invisible.
"Chill, Darius, I don't think the she wants to fight." Akuro said.
"Oh well, that's a pretty intimidating resting-bitch-face then, cuz it sure as hell seems like she's out for blood." Darius said, letting his aura fade.
"Who the hell are you?!" Inari yelled accusingly.
"Umm, your future boyfriend?" Akuro joked.
"Not a good idea to poke the angry bear, man. Women are scary, ya know." Darius warned.
"Shut the fuck up, both of you! And I know you are there Darius! Seriously, who are you really, Akuro?" Inari said angrily, "why did that demon come after you? It makes no sense of you're just a deity like the rest of us, there is no reason that demon would've had to go after you! Who or what are you?"
"Look," Akuro groaned, "I honestly have no clue why that thing came after me, but he's dead now, aight? We killed it."
"What?" Inari asked, dumbstruck.
"Not very bright, are we? Look around you, ya dumb red-head." Darius spoke, waving his hand at the destroyed city and the falling ash. "Cuz the city just falls apart on its own?"
"I know you fought it, I'm not stupid!" Inari growled, "I just didn't know you killed it, to be honest, with how much pressure it had I'm surprised either of you are alive." She looked at Darius, "Especially you."
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean? I'm the one who delivered the killing blow. See I'm the brains of the operation, this powerhouse over here is just the brawn." Darius said, his invisibility cloak fading.
"Shut up, dipstick." Akuro growled at Darius.
"How did you kill it?" Inari asked in shock.
"That's a secret I'd like to keep, actually. We can't trust you."
"We?" Inari turned to Akuro. "You really teamed up with this idiot?"
Akuro shrugged. "He's useful."
"I don't know about you, but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him." She said.
"When did I say I trusted him?"
Darius glared at Akuro. "I'm standing right here, asshole."
