As I approached the room that we were having lunch in. The air was was filled with sweet aroma of different types of dishes. There were deep fried shrimp, that's are crispy on the outside and when you bite into it. It becomes soft and chewy. The seasoning smelled like barbecue but with a hint of the frangance of flowers. The Kung Po chicken was made from fresh chilli from the Fuyu village. Fuyu village has the best crops all year round. Since the crops are watered from natural spring waters. I went to the village's water source before. I found out the spring waters has yuan energy mixed in there. That was the reason why the crops grew so fast and tasted very fresh. Of course the size is also larger than average crops from other villages or farms. Anyways moving on to the savory dishes.
The Mo Po tofu caught my eyes. I can't take my eyes off of them. The tofu looks like it can melt so easily in your mouth, the bowl was also still bubbling. There were also buns that's looks freshly steamed. White and fluffy with sweet rose filling and sesame filling. last but not least the soup. It was a warm, not too sweet creamy corn soup. Oh my goodness, I love it so much!
Yes I thought about how the food would taste all in one glance.
My grandparents were the first ones seated on the fancy wooden chairs. My parents got seated on the chairs quickly after. Same as me and my brother. Bowls of rice was also seated on the table.
The freshly brewed green tea was prepared for choking hazards. (Don't ask me why choking hazard, in my memories my dad choked on a piece of bun before, because he was laughing at my brother's hairstyle. It really looked like a hedgehog with the spikes.)
Everyone started enjoying the food. I used my chopsticks and picked up a piece of Mo Po tofu. Wow, the tofu actually melted in my mouth with all the flavours bursting out.
"Yunyun, I heard there will be a level test soon, at the centre of the city." My grandma spoke while holding her chopsticks on one hand.
Yunyun is my nickname for this household. In my memories my grandparents was really skilled cultivators. They met at a restaurant and my grandpa somehow get himself into trouble. At that time he was still very young, same as my grandma. My grandma also somehow got involved and had to save grandpa. Since then, they fell in love and later on my dad was born. My dad said he and my mom met in a academy. That academy was only for prodigies and both my parents take courses there. They fell in love at first sight. After that they had my brother, as expected, my brother was very intelligent and became a cultivator the wields a sword. When I was born, I awakened my powers at the age of 6 like any other kid. But the problem was since then my parents couldn't detect any changes of leveling up. My memories shows that my stage went up very fast and can learn skillbooks very speedy too. But somehow the original person couldn't tell them. My parents were so worried and frustrated at the time, because they think I was struck on opening light start stage. It's still a mystery even now.
"I don't know what to do, do you still want to test your powers?" My grandma asked, while placing down the chopsticks.
The atmosphere of the room suddenly went to moody. They all had great sympathy for me, since I've been stuck on this level for a 10 years now.
"It's okay if you still want to take the test, sister, if they bully you, I will make sure they will get beaten until they are half alive." My brother spoke with a happy tone and similing at the same time.
"You don't have to go if you don't want to yunyun." My mom said in a soft voice.
"Don't worry mom, I have to try, even though I know what's going to happen." I said, looking up to all the family members.
