Degratti breathes heavily as she collects herself while staring daggers at Daram who was moping at the homeroom teacher.
"But we are supposed to have class," Daram argues as she leans off her table. "And it's your period."
"It is, but you are been called upon." He answers sternly. "I would not worry about that if I were you."
She has the urge to hiss but restrains herself as she bites her upper lip. Kicking her table as she followed him out of the class.
"I am here," Degratti says in between her breath, doing her best to keep up the pace.
"Great way to start a day!" Daran hisses under her teeth as she grumpily followed as they left the stone building walking into another, only a little smaller in size.
Reaching the building, he pushes one of the heavy wooden doors as he walks inside, standing after the door, by the corner.
Entering inside the alleged meeting hall, made for gatherings regarding the future of general elementary education in Napall- for this is the only elementary educational institution before graduating and working under a wing. Only government officials and well-respected teachers entered here, well not forgetting deliquescent juvéniles with no hopes regarding their education with a slippery start in their social career.
Daram kissed her tooth as she kicked herself staring at the Head Teacher at the other end of the hall. 'I'm in big soup...'
"Good morning to you all, I would love to get a recount of the incident that occurred yesterday evening 'outside' the school premises between this institution's students."
Daram swallows hard as she glances at Degratti who was staring at someone on the table. Following her gaze, she saw a graceful lady, likely in her mid-40s, sitting eloquently on the wooden chair as she stared at the trio, specifically at her.
"This girl here..." Degratti starts as she takes a step forward.
"I'm not a 'girl'!" Daram immediately cuts her.
"... She pushed Hara, yesterday! She attacked us!" Degratti continued as she held her hand to her chest as she recollected the event.
"I'm Daram! Can't you address me by my name, for crying out loud?"
"Order!" The Head Teacher said giving no effort to hide the malignance in her tone.
"Hara's leg is fractured, she fractured it." Degratti casually said trudging her feet to get more attention as she pointed at Daram.
"I did what?" Daram asked as shocked as the staff of confused teachers.
"Are you playing the fool?" Degratti half screamed as her brows furrowed.
"I don't know what you are talking about!" Daram sincerely replies.
"Oh,... you should.", Degratti says as someone pushes the second door open, wheeling in the wounded Hara.
Her head spins and spins searching through her memory castle. 'I should know about this. I feel like I should know about this...' She thinks as she looks strangely at the wounded girl. Slowly the fragments come and she furrows her brow, trying her best to concentrate.
...
"There she is!" A sharp voice says as her petite figure stood in the way. She looks at them as she walks past them.
"How dare you walk out on us?" Another chime in standing on her path.
"Just get away," Daram said impatiently. "Just get away!"
A fist can be seen gliding through the air aimed for her head which she easily dodges losing her backpack in the process. But another fist quickly follows.
"You should have not used this road," Degratti said amidst the punching. "No one will find you!"
In desperation, Daram kicks the next assailant and throws off the other.
But a punch lands
"I am Degratti."
...
Daram freezes in place as her memory comes back to her.
'That's what I was forgetting...' Daram thinks as she lets out a sigh, recalling the event.
"What do you have to say, young woman?" The lady Degratti was staring at finally speaks up as she rises to her feet.
"This is my domain, I ask the questions." The Head Teacher says as she gives Daram a questioning look. "What's your version of the story?"
"I was attacked after school at the alleyway!" Daram started. "I didn't attack anybody!"
"That's a..." Lady Degratti scoffs as she hits her fist against the table.
"That's out of my domain. According to the Rules and Régulation, Section A, Rule number 28 and 34, any misconduct of the students out of the school premises and out of school hours is not to be tied to the school but to the parents or guardians of the students in question.
The current situation does not involve nor endanger the school, its reputation, or its staff; but a beef between students. So I hereby end this urgent meeting that had been called upon because of the false alarm Lady Satiki raised." The Head Teacher said as she packed her papers walking out of the hall, followed by the other teachers.
Daram stared at the teachers as they took their leave, as she was putting the pieces together
'So Degratti has framed me for handicapped Hara. And she's a noble daughter and her mother a noble... They won't be in for beef, would they? After all, Hara is not a noble just a commoner...'
She is brought to her senses when a hand is dropped on her right shoulder, slightly rocking her.
"You have to face the consequences of your actions." Lady Satiki says is a smirk as her eyes covered in dark circles looked at the young Daram with some intentions. As Degratti drew closer and Hara wheeled nearer.
'They won't let it slide.'
'Run!'
That was the only thing that came to her head. Run to the temple, which was a neutral ground, the portal between gods and man. Where these authorities didn't apply. She turns as she picks to her heels but is stopped as easily.
"Not so fast,"
