A man gazed at the eastern horizon where the sun was beginning to emerge. Beads of sweat dotted his forehead, and his labored breath was evidence that he had just finished his morning exercise.
The morning training routine at Kodim 0214 wasn't too strenuous for soldiers accustomed to sweating it out. Yet, for ordinary individuals, this exercise could easily lead to them vomiting out their last two days' worth of meals.
However, for this man, training was something he found enjoyable. His name was Arya Wiraguna, a name that strongly reflected his Javanese origin.
"Arya, what are you daydreaming about? Come on, stand up quickly. We need to get ready before Sergeant Tumbung gets angry again," a man said, patting Arya's shoulder from behind.
Arya turned around and found his fellow platoon member, Gunjar.
"Ah, no, I just feel like there's something off since this morning," Arya replied.
