Del could only remain silent, frozen with quivering lips. He knew that Kylia wasn't physically near him, yet her screams seemed to echo in his ears. Del suspected that the Root Link not only created illusions in his sight but also in his hearing.

The sound of knocking on his door resonated from outside his room. Del sensed that one of the subjects was pounding on his door. Judging from the physical characteristics, it was a woman, and there was only one woman among the five subjects—S-19.
"What is it, S-19?" Del asked.
"Leader, are you okay?" S-19 inquired. She had heard the sound of a body falling from Del's room and immediately rushed to check on him, concerned for his well-being.
