Chaos...
A realm that is linked between the multiple universes. A place with gravity so strong that no light could pass through. A curtain that was so wide that it seemed infinite. A home and prison for celestial beings.
There are three levels of chaos and the highest level is many times wider than the lower levels.
But what made it unthinkable was that no matter the level, chaos was infinite. So to be precise, every level of chaos was infinitely wider than the adjoining level.
And this place was the first level of chaos. The chaos that connects one universe with other universes in the same type of universe.
Two lights could be seen in chaos, one a bright green light, that brought serenity when seen from afar but induced terror when seen up close. Like an ancient forest that is very lush but hides horrors behind the leaves of the trees.
The other light was red-hot, it was explosive as it emitted radiation that vibrated space, but when you look closely, the light seemed to gather at one core, which shows sharpness. Like a sun-shaped sword.
The two lights came from two individuals who were comfortably sitting with a wine glass in their hands.
But why is there light in chaos when there is no light that can pass through it?
Well... sometimes thinking too much about certain things makes no sense. Because life itself doesn't make sense, doesn't it?... or... you're just too weak to understand it, isn't that the case?
------------------------------------
"Shit! How did you become this strong?" grumbled the man with the green light.
He was an asura, a powerful race that had never existed in this Cultivation Universe.
Their number was very large and they reproduced quickly; it was as if they multiplied every second.
The source of their strength was not the Qi that was used by other cultivators. The source of their strength came from a strange energy in their lower abdomen called Dragon Prana.
Dragon Prana was a powerful energy that did not exceed Qi but it possessed extraordinary characteristics. it could feed on almost every known energy ever recorded.
The asura was named Groda.
"Indeed, I can't catch up in terms of power but I can compensate in terms of skill" The man with the red light smiled.
"Hmm... You indeed have all kinds of strange abilities. If only you weren't limited by the 'Universe's Limit' you might have beaten me long ago." Groda said as he nodded.
A thousand years after the Asuras arrived, they easily controlled a quarter of the Lower Realm in the entire Cultivation Universe. This made all the cultivators in the Upper Realm realize the danger they were up against. They began to find out more about their enemy and then, they found out that the invaders were a multi-universe cataclysm.
In the end, all of the cultivators united to block the onslaught of the asuras but alas, they were like the waves crashing against the rock as every single one of their attempts to dispose of them was easily crushed.
This was because even though middle-power level fighters have the same strength, upper-power level fighters have hugely different strengths. Even though the cultivators were able to keep up with the asuras at the start of the battle, everything changed when the upper-power level fighters of the asuras started to join.
This was not because the upper-power level cultivators were weak but because they were being held back by the Universe's Limit.
Each universe had a peak power limit, this was a universe's self-defense mechanism so the creatures in it do not have power that exceeds what the universe itself can bear. So if the creatures in the universe wants to become stronger, they must also need to make their universe stronger and push the Universe's Limit to the next level.
But this law was of no use to the asuras. They were cataclysms that had been prepared by the world to maintain balance by destroying the natives of the universe. Therefore asuras could become stronger without any limit.
But the presence of asuras in the world was not only a cataclysm but also a tribulation. Many of them were capable of destroying the Cultivation Universe with a wave of their hand but they still had to follow the Universe's Law and they could only attack universes that have previously been set on a destruction date or in their term called 'Ripe Time'.
Even then, the asuras were unable to send troops that have a power level far greater than the Universe's Limit. They could only send one fighter as a troop commander with powers one level above the Universe's Limit.
The man with the red light shook his head "You give me too much credit. Maybe now I can keep up with you but soon you will find a way to counteract my ability. When that time comes then this universe will be destroyed and I will perish in it" even though his words were ugly, there was no sorrow in his tone.
The man with the red light had understood the end and he had accepted it gracefully.
Groda just smiled bitterly. He remembered the first time he came to this world.
At that time, the Qi within the universe was agitated, causing the Great Dao to shake. After that, like a frightened mouse being stared at by a cat, the Great Dao issued an ultimatum for all cultivators present to hunt down the invaders.
But arrogant cultivators looked down on invaders who came to their world. Even after dozens of Lower Realms were overrun by the asuras, the cultivators in the Upper Realm still considered this to be a normal occurrence.
The asuras were like a locust that seized all the resources in the world very quickly.
Every time they came to one of the worlds, they would kill all the men and kidnap all the women. All the resources, both useful and worthless, were seized until nothing was left. The Heaven Will that existed in that world was absorbed by their leaders and became nutrients to strengthen themselves.
The women they kidnapped became similar to cattle for breeding. All existing asuras were male and they could have intercourse with any creature, be it human, demon, or spirit. As long as the women had wombs to bear their children (or a hole to poke) the asuras didn't care.
Cultivators in the Lower Realm felt the horror of these invaders firsthand and they banded together to fight against them. However, like eggs thrown at rocks, all their resistance was useless and it only made the invaders even more excited.
Several cultivators from the Upper Realm who were interested in this and wanted to research the asuras' bodies also came but only a few of them managed to survive after the battle started.
With the existence of the Universe's Limit, the destruction of this universe was only a matter of time. The only way for them to survive was to sacrifice themselves and make this universe stronger.
But unfortunately, cultivators were extremely selfish.
Groda was bored and had assumed that his task would end as quickly as the other Cultivation type Universe. However, he was wrong...
A cultivator came to block his way. His power level remained confined by the Universe's Limit but he had very strange and varied fighting abilities. Every time they met this man always brought up various ways to make their battle a draw.
Not infrequently his strange abilities made Groda almost lose his life.
As a result, this boring Universe became... more interesting!
Battle after battle and duel after duel brought these two fighters closer. They became a pair of rivals who understood each other's feelings without having to speak.
That's why Groda knew that his rival was a living mannequin.
He had no goals and just followed his instincts to survive. Passionless and full of despair. This made Groda very annoyed...
He didn't want to accept that a man he recognized as a rival had such a weak heart.
"What do you mean by that? You can learn a new skill and fight me with something that I've never seen before. Maybe someday you will find a way to kill me!! We are immortal beings! We will not die due to the passing of time! Why are you giving up like this? I don't like the look in your eyes right now" Groda snapped loudly, his face full of anger and contempt.
Just as Groda understood him, The man with the red light also understood what Groda was feeling. For Groda he was his greatest rival, their every meeting and fight was something that Groda had been anticipating.
As an asura, he had an abnormal affinity for war and fighting. Therefore for them finding equal rivals was more valuable than finding any treasure.
So it was natural for Groda to feel humiliated when The man with the red light found an easy way for himself.
Right...
He wanted to be killed by Groda.
But he couldn't just give up. The pride that was in his heart prevented him from committing suicide. That's why he used all his abilities when fighting Groda.
But in the end, a trick was just a trick. It could not forever fool absolute power.
Currently, The man with the red light has started to run out of tricks.
"It's okay... I don't have anything I want to do with this life," said The man with the red light to calm Groda. He didn't want to give up on moving forward but unfortunately in this life, he no longer had a path to walk.
That's why he wanted to end it. He still had some abilities he was hiding from Groda, with this ability he might be able to give the most exciting fight as a final gift for his rival and friend. Someone who had existed with him for hundreds of millions of years.
Groda looked deep into The man with the red light's eyes for any remaining light of hope but unfortunately, he saw nothing. Groda let out a long sigh of disappointment.
Every happiness would end. Just like the fight between the two of them that had been going on for hundreds of millions of years.
"Before that... Can you tell me your story?" said Groda with uncertainty.
As an asura, he never cared about the past of someone he would kill but for this man in front of him, Groda made an exception.
The man with the red light's eyes lit up, he never expected that question to come from Groda's mouth. He was slightly touched that Groda held him in high regard .
".....Okay... But where do I start?" The man with the red light said while feeling troubled.
Groda refilled his wine glass and The man with the red light, "How about from your name?" he said lightly.
"Well... I don't even know your name" The man with the red light chuckled.
"Me? Groda."
"Well... My name...."
