"Come on Brea, we need to get in the car" I nudge Brea after she kept looking at the door Cesare had disappeared into
She blinks once then twice before turning her eyes to me "that's Cesare Moretti? Or did the spray get into my eyes too"
I roll my eye at her dramatic reaction. "let's get in the car first Brea and we'll talk about it, anything can happen to us here" I reason with her.
She seems to understand the dangers of us staying out here because she finally responds to me, I lead her to Cesare's luxurious car and we both take the back seat
"Tab?" She calls a bit unsure
I sigh knowing what's coming next "Yes, he's Cesare Moretti"
She gasps dramatically "oh my God Tab, what have you done? The strongest and most powerful mafia boss that even the cops avoid and the whole city is scared of is in OUR house and we're sitting in HIS car and you're this calm about it?" Brea panics beside me and to some extent, I don't really blame her for reacting this way. Anybody that knows Cesare is this terrified of him, I am too, just not as much as I was before.
I hold her both hands in mine and I make her look at me "Relax Brea, I know you're surprised and this is the most inappropriate way to have to tell you what has been going on but I just need you to trust me and relax, he's only here to help us I promise, nothing will happen to us"
"Can you do that for me?" I ask softly as I rub slow circles on the back of her palms with my thumb just to add to the reassurance. I've known Brea for the longest and we've absolutely had situations like this so I know how to calm her down and put her at ease when she's very anxious
Her pretty brown eye search mine to know if she should believe me and when she sees how honest I am, she exhales and the worry slowly starts to leave her. Brea being calmer helps me calm down a little bit too
"Okay, so who are those men and why did they come here? It's very obvious that they came here especially for you an-and- and who- like how did he even know they were here?" The questions rushes out her mouth
"The thing is...." The door creaks open cutting me short and both I and Brea's eyes flies to the door.
Cesare comes out the door first, his hair is tousled and the black suit jacket he had isn't on anymore, he's now in only his black dress shirt which has the sleeves rolled up to his elbow and his pants that are just resting on his waist, they look like they're about to fall out but it doesn't, it just sits there. His baseball bat is on his left hand while his right hand has his belt wrapped around it and his belt is attached to something I cannot see yet because it's hidden behind him.
He stands on the doorway for a few seconds before fully coming out, attached to the belt are the legs of the two men who had broken into our house, he has one of each of their legs in the loop he had formed with his belt before tightening it so he can pull them by it. I can tell that he used some effort to pull them from the way he strained his cold face.
When he has fully pulled them out the door he pauses "Piccola!" He thunders and I jump a little bit at his harsh voice. I look at Brea and she looks at me, we already understand the eye gestures
"I'll be fine Tab" she reassures me before I climb out the car to answer Cesare.
"Which one of them lay hands on you?" He asks his cold piercing eye rests on mine.
My eye darts down to the two men who are now kneeling beside Cesare, they land straight on the guy who had come after me, they both look like they've already taken a beating, his injury is open and bleeding with a broken nose. His bleeding lips that is split open doesn't stop the creepy scary smirk that spreads across his face when we make eye contact.
I shiver in fear and disgust and immediately take my eyes off of him. I don't see the face of the guy who went after Brea because his head is hung low. From the corner of my eye I see Brea looking at us through the window.
I look back at Cesare who's still waiting for my reply " him" I say pointing to the guy.
We make eye contact again and his evil smirk grows even wider.
Cesare's POV
Anger boils inside of me when I see him looking at my Piccola. My grip on the baseball bat tightens and I do everything in my power to not smash his head right now.
I don't want Tabitha to see that, she's already seen enough for today. I should have known these little peasants would do something petty like this. I thought they'll come for me and I was really prepared but instead they come for Tabitha. I'm going to so make them wish they didn't
"Go wait for me in the car Piccola" I order her, my voice comes out a bit harder than I wanted, controlling my anger is something I'm not used to.
Tabitha doesn't argue, she just goes to the car as I instructed. Immediately she leaves I shift my attention and anger back to the two unfortunate fellows here.
I swing the bat sending it straight into one of their stomachs, the one at the extreme. He groans in pain and starts coughing as blood splutters out his mouth
"Tell Malkovich he'll hear from me" I say to him as I untie the belt I had used to bind their both legs. I send him off with a kick to the middle of his back. I'm sure that'll leave some damage, I learnt karate before I knew how to throw a proper punch and I give pretty strong kicks..
The bastard Tabitha had pointed to stands up also together with his partner, what he didn't know was that I wasn't done with him yet. I tightened back the belt around his leg after I untied it for his partner so I pull on the other edge that I have in my hand and he falls to the floor, his knees harshly hitting the ground.
"If you don't want to feel what a bullet to the brain feels like you better keep those fucking legs moving " I say to his partner who paused after hearing what happened, he doesn't hesitate to take to his heels again disappearing to the side of the building and probably into the woods.
Now I face my main prey for tonight, the idiot that had dared to touch my Piccola, my eye is darker than it is usually is as I let the anger flow through my veins. The fucker still had the guts to smirk?
I round him two times just letting my dominating energy out, the same one I use when I want to get someone to submit to me, when he least expects it I swing the base ball bat at the side of his abdomen and part of it lands on his elbow too, the crunching sound of his elbow bones and his cries mixes together in a sweet rhythm to my ear.
His unaffected side and arm grabs the injured one as he roughly rubs it to ease the pain. Without giving him a second to recover I swing the bat again and this time land it on the shoulder bone of his second arm. He doubles over and I go for the middle of his back next and then his thigh until I'm full on smashing his whole body with the baseball bat
He's laying on the floor slipping in and out of consciousness already but I don't plan to stop yet as I keep using the bat to barter his body.
The distinct sound of the police siren drifts into my ear. My hands that were constantly swinging the bat comes to a stop. He coughs weakly and sputters out some blood.
His punishment is not death, his punishment is going to be surviving, being alive.
When the cops get here they'll do everything within their power to get him treated and keep him alive but not all parts of his body will get back to how it was before and he's going to go through the excruciating pain of recovery.
And when he finally recovers the cops are going to put him in prison, I'm sure they'll find many crimes against him and he won't be getting out for a really long time. Malkovich is gonna think he's useless since he can't use all parts of his body properly
And he's gonna wanna shut him up so he doesn't sell Malkovich out, he's going to hate me but he will hate Malkovich even more. Then maybe I wouldn't have to waste my time trying to kill that mother fucker because this guy is gonna do it for me and afterwards I'll kill him too
I'm such a genius
I look his body over one last time to be sure he's not dead before I make my way back into the car. Tabitha and her friend jumps from how hard I slam the door shut.
From the rear view mirror I see the cops pulling up in front of Tabitha's house but we're far gone already, I step on the accelerator.
