Phew, after a long day at work, I decided to take a leisurely walk back to my apartment. The apartment I live in is quite affordable, so I consider myself lucky in that regard.
I grabbed my keys and inserted them into the doorknob, turning it to unlock the door. As I opened the door, I was greeted by a familiar voice. "Welcome home, Rei~!"
"I'm home, Hoshiko." I walked into the living room and plopped down onto the sofa with a tired sigh.
"Tired? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"So, how was work?"
"Same old, same old."
"Hehe, I see, I see!" Hoshiko then walked into the kitchen and returned with a pot, placing it on the table. "I made dinner!"
"Ehh~ I see." My fatigue seemed to dissipate as I straightened myself and lifted the lid of the pot. "Wow, it looks great!"
The aroma of the delicious meal filled the air, and I couldn't help but smile at Hoshiko's thoughtfulness. It was comforting to know that I had someone waiting for me at home, ready to take care of me after a long day.
There's one problem...
I cleared my throat, feeling a bit uneasy about the situation. "So, how did the inspection go?"
Hoshiko looked at me with a smile. "Oh, you mean the Aegis? Yeah, they approved my request to join your squad!"
"I see..."
The only problem was that Saya Hoshiko, the person I knew as Hoshiko, was actually a demon. Not just any demon, but a special one. I encountered Saya when I was on the brink of death after saving a squad from danger. Saya had saved me and then offered a proposition. "You're interesting~ Would you like to make a contract with me?"
At first, I hesitated, knowing that she was a demon and unsure of the implications. But then, one night, she snuck into my bed and forcefully made a contract with me by kissing me while I was sleeping.
It was an unexpected turn of events, and I had been unsure of how to handle the situation ever since.
"Hoshiko, would you mind if I take a look at your stats?"
She looked at me curiously and nodded, setting her meal aside. She swiped the air, revealing her stats system.
Her current stats were as follows: ATK 500 (+130), DEF 2000, SPD 200, Luck 100, Crit Rate 140.0% (+20), Attack Speed 90% (+50).
Haha, as expected of a demon...
Hoshiko looked at me in surprise. "What about you? I bet your stats are higher than mine!"
I sighed, feeling a bit embarrassed. Slowly, I swiped the air to reveal my stats system. "ATK: 20, DEF: 30, SPD: 120 (+90), Luck: 90 (+10), Crit Rate: 10.0%, Attack Speed: 50% (+30)."
Hoshiko's eyes widened, and she seemed taken aback for a moment. "Well, you're still growing after all," she said, trying to lighten the mood with a playful wink.
I smiled and thanked her for her concern, grabbing a plate and returning to the living room to enjoy some of the meat from the pot.
"Hmm~" Hoshiko looked at me and sat down beside me, her gaze fixed on me intently.
I looked back at her, still munching on my meal. "What is it?"
Without warning, she leaned closer and closer to my neck, her lips inching closer to my skin as if she was about to bite. "H-Hoshiko!"
I quickly reacted, reaching out to push her away. "Hoshiko, what are you doing?"
She looked at me with a mischievous smile, her eyes filled with a playful gleam. "Oh, come on, Rei. Can't I have a little fun?"
I was visibly agitated. "That's not funny! Are you trying to kill me?"
Hoshiko chuckled softly, seemingly unfazed by my reaction. "Relax, Rei. You know I would never harm you. It's just a little vampire play."
I looked into her eyes and let out a sigh. Knowing there was no point in resisting, I decided to go along with her antics. I exposed my neck to her, signaling my consent. "Here."
Hoshiko's mischievous smile widened as she leaned in, kissing my lips before moving to my neck, gently sinking her fangs into my skin and drawing a small amount of blood. I winced at the sensation but maintained my composure.
After a moment, she pulled away and looked at me with gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you, Rei."
I offered a small smile in return. "No problem, Hoshiko. Just be careful, alright?"
She nodded, her playful demeanor momentarily replaced by a softer expression. "I promise, I'll always be mindful of you."
With our meal finished, we wrapped up the evening and prepared to retire for the night. As we settled into bed.
"Don't do anything weird, okay?" I glared at her, half serious and half playful.
Hoshiko giggled mischievously, assuring me with a playful tone. "Hehe~ I won't, I won't~"
I continued to give her a stern look. "You better not. I need my rest."
She pouted, feigning innocence. "Oh, don't worry, Rei. I'll be on my best behavior tonight."
I rolled my eyes, knowing well enough that Hoshiko's definition of "best behavior" might differ from mine. Nevertheless, I sighed and settled into bed, hoping for a peaceful night's sleep.
